That is honestly pretty close to how I operate. I try to wait for 2-3 updates to go by (or more, depends how much new content is included) before grabbing the latest and starting from fresh.
The other advantage to this method is, many devs do a half-assed job on the earlier content, then when they start becoming successful they go back and upgrade some of the earlier content, adding things like animation, sound, etc... sometimes even more content... You miss all that if you are just resuming from where you left off.
I am eager to see the new update for the headmaster because he talks about improving the animations... which are by far one of the weakest points of the game currently. The stills are amazing, the animations are really trash, it looks like someone just took a JPEG and resized/stretched it a billion times to simulate 'animation.' *This is intended as tough love, no ill will toward the dev, the game is amazing just would be 10x more amazing if we had real animation.
