Ren'Py - The Headmaster [v0.16.3] [Altos and Herdone]

This game is great. If several months ago, when I discovered this site, someone had told me that I would become Patreon of one of these porno games, I would have laugh at them.
This game is truly a gem, which changes my opinion about paying for content of this type. What does it have that other games don't?

+ Very slow pacing. Yes, I know, to many people this is a flaw, especially for these who expect sex in first 10 minutes of game, but for me slow pacing adds a believability to story progression and when you get to a certain point, you feel much more satisfied.
This problem is not restricted to the games from this site. In almost all games you have to be a hero, capable of defeating an army almost from a start, or else majority of today's players would say a game is dull. There is very few games like Gothic where for a very long time a simple wolf can kick your ass.

+ Believable characters reactions within borders of some unbelievable assumptions (like existence of this kind of school)
+ Dialogs
+ Plot
+ Humor
+ Lack of the usual disadvantage of this type of games, in which you can learn that 90% women have ZZZ cup and want almost immediately have sex with you.
+ Lack of incest (I don't understand why it is so popular)
+ And of course spanking, if you have fetish for that (but this is requirement to play this game).

One of the games where the realism - or more accurately, the possibility that the methods preached by the MC it can actually be implemented with real results in real life - actually made the game so much more interesting that it should've been. There are some segments that in other games I would've skipped, but here I carefully examined them because I sincerely want to understand the mad but logical methods the MC employed to train his students. It also helps that he's both incredibly charismatic and confident in himself, a trait that every person would like to pretend they have and thus wouldn't mind their MC to have at all.

I give it a 4 star because I ran into a bug that was probably a year old, which seriously annoyed me. It the one where you're tasked to discover Amy's pleasure/humiliation/pain source, and the one where you're supposed to conduct a web search to find the porn magazine she mentioned just wouldn't trigger for me. As a result I was locked out of one of the most promising characters in the game unless I redo the game exactly the dev wanted so that the bug won't repeat itself, or unlock the gallery scenes to watch it, which completely misses the point of playing the game. And even then my save file is useless because it's bugged and, assuming this game reaches completion, I'll almost certainly be locked out of a true/harem ending or something. This is A YEAR OLD, it should've been fixed a long time ago.

Besides that, there are some continuity errors where certain events were implied to have happened, but not really I did them the other way around. I'd rather the dev impose a hard lock on certain content if that's the case, because it would be REALLY confusing when the rest of the cast gets their individual scenes.

All in all it's a great game, and despite how I made it sound halfway through the review there are barely any bugs at all, much less gamebreaking ones. But the dev definitely needs to pay attention to the continuity problem or similar bugs will definitely happen in the future.

Sincerely impressed with this. I remember playing Harem Hotel a few months ago and thinking it had potential, but that there were issues with the mechanics and the premise that was holding it back. The Headmaster improves on all of Harem Hotel's weaknesses. The replay menu alone would have been a massive improvement, but the writing of both the subplots and the overarching plot are greatly improved as well.

The headmaster and Ruth in particular are great characters. The problem I have with most games on here, especially corruption-based games, is that they're kind of soulless, with main characters who immediately start manipulating the women around them the minute they get any sort of power. And the game always cheers them on blithely for being terrible people. Here, you have a protagonist who's in denial about the nature of his actions, working against a woman whom the game admits is a good person with good intentions, in the service of powerful people who are using him to his own ends. It's a nice change from games that correlate any amount of prudishness from a character to being the spawn of Satan. It also means that doing assholish things, like blackmailing Ruth into your service or accusing Priti falsely of a crime, actually has ramifications for the protagonist. It's just refreshing.

I normally avoid unfinished games, or at least try to, but I saw all the reviews on this and had to at least check it out.

Boy, is this game worth 5 stars. Not all the games that get high ratings on this site really represent the peak of what it really has to offer, but this title is definitely something special.

I have to imagine pretty much everything I could say about its quality has already been said in the 100 other reviews, and by the fact that it was good enough to motivate 100 other reviews, so I'll just say that it's definitely got some serious content already, definitely has a good deal more to go before it's done, and is fun to read even if your pants stay on the whole time.

It's been awhile since I've been this invested in the story and the characters (especially the characters).

The MC is a sadistic (yet likable) asshole that I just can't help rooting for.
Many of the girls (including the teachers) have varying, but rich personalities where some characters even have solid backstories.
The more I play, the more I feel like I'm being drawn into the story, and a great sense of progression comes with it (via unlocking sex scenes).

I really hope this game gets completed and gets the recognition it deserves. The way the game is progressing, it's be a crime to give it anything less than a 5 star.

I like 2dcg games more than 3dcg usually, but this one is a good 3dcg game.
Let me explain why I really enjoyed it:
1) MC is morally right (at least he thinks so lol)
2) School with hot girls and teachers
3) You can easily use cheats without console if you want
4) Catchy plot
5) You can spank girls + light bdsm and submission (you decide the exact punishment)
6) Nice graphics and animations

I am really fond of this game, as can hopefully be evidenced by the following, it is the introduction to the game re-imagined as the first portion of an epic poem, created as a thank-you for the creators, @AltosandHerdone.

I don't know how anyone who enjoys adult games could possibly rate this game any lower than a four and to me a four is harsh. I don't think I have played a game that has gripped me as much, not since I got my first games console which was an Atari 2600.
I have completed the game and now I'm desperately looking forward to the next updates. I think there is real genius in this game.
The MC marvelously intertwines his own scientific theories with his own predatory urges and his isatiable need for control and order. I also think the characters have real depth and a uniqueness that goes beyond their basic physical appearance.
The gradual crescendo that builds provides the perfect balance between short term gratification and longer term rewards that come about through anticipation and occasional failure.
The opening scenes play an important part and provide a glimpse of what the MC can achieve if he can convince those around him to buy in to his vision. Even now there is still so much to achieve so many girls to punish and mould into the better version of themselves that only the MC can bring out in them.
My hope is that the Headmaster gains approval to extend his influence into a post-graduate scheme that allows him to keep his most favoured students for longer. Keep up the excellent work. You have gifted us an awesome creation!

The Headmaster created by a Wife and Husband team who go by the name AltosandHerdone it is a unique take on the school girl genre that will titillate your funny bone as you gleefully spank not only the girls but your monkey as well.

Set in the not to distant future, The Headmaster takes place in Engla... Err A distant nation island as AltosandHerdone puts it. In this future according the the government and the adult population children have become out of control and undisciplined; causing massive failures in the education system and great social unrest. Draconian laws have been passed to deal with this issue, and new institutes have been founded (thanks to the help of several private and wealthy individuals) to deal with this problem. You are a young male psychologist testing and developing a new method of discipline. After some let's say unforeseen setbacks you have been given the opportunity to prove your method is the right one...

And Boy is this method fun! The Headmaster is in full development right now and is constantly and consistently being updated with new content. What content you ask well. as the Headmaster it is your job to develop and prove your method of discipline is the right one. By handing out the right balance of Pain, Humiliation and yes Pleasure you will be able to bring this group of troubled girls to heel. I won't go into detail because it's far more fun to experience it then read about it.

The story for The Headmaster is one of a battle of wills between you and the students, between you and your staff and of course between you and self righteous government agents. But fear not you have allies with the school sponsors and if you play your cards right you can even get the staff and better yet the students to help you. What could go wrong?

The graphic of of The Headmaster are what you would expect from a Ren'Py game but AltosandHerdone have worked hard to make the girls and characters fan favorites. And the setting are well crafted.

I personally give this game a 10 out of 5 but the rating system only goes up to 5. Play this game, you will not be disappointed. And if you have the cash become a Patreon.

The characters are well developed. I like the approach the dev has taken by focus on single characters for a given update. The foundation here is solid and I'm looking forward to where the dev takes the interactions between the girls.

The mechanic of corrupting the school rules, finding the girl's kinks, and exploiting those insecurities and desires is a good game loop. The actual punishment system is fun and well thought out.

Great animation!

Furthermore, the included debug menu, and quality of the in game guide is a nice touch. Not too much info, but enough to get you to the next place.

Generally i'm not one to review a game that i don't like, i'm of the mindset that you should only decide if you like a game or not after playing it. I guess that the reason why i'm writting this review is because the game is a clear example of "good/interesting concept, poor/lacking execution".

It's sound really tantalizing the idea of being the headmaster of a school, specially one of bad girls, the problem is that all the girls feel very bland, or they are all really pieces of shit or actually really nice and left you thinking why should i punish her so hard?

Still the main problem with the game is the grinding, grinding in itself is not bad (i like it, but i can understand why other don't), the problem is that you grind and grind for hours to unlock really little content making the reward really unsatisfactory and pointless.

im giving this game 3 stars because i'm on the fence, i think that if the game gets more polishment and deep it can be quite enjoyable but as it's stands it's a unsatisfactory grindfest.

The idea of school where you can punish girls for their bad behavior is intriguing but all i was able to do, after several hours of playing, was spanking. spanking, spanking and again spanking. you can spank them in few different poses but its still only spanking. I dont mind spanking but its nothing that i would be interesting in. Same for the anime/japanese wibe. The meeting where you can change rules for the school appeared maybe 6 times but i was able to make changes only once and they werent great or anything. i guess its just too soft game for me, i would need something more to be interested in.

Spanking the Game

Awesome game, but be warned - the lewdness is mostly in turning girls submissive via spanking and punishment. The best part about this is the MC. He's very academic and believes he's morally right. It's an interesting perspective where he's making all these girls do lewd things but constantly reinforces that it's for their own good.

The girls are cute, distinct, and lovable as well as the other teachers. The writing is on point. The story feels like it's just getting started, so with another few updates it would be a definite recommendation. As of now, the foundation and content are super solid - just don't expect any story arcs to be completed.

I'm very surprised about negative reviews here. I mean, it's a really good game, rendering are wonderful, not grindy...

Actually yes, there is no SO MUCH sex content until few events are done. It's mainly a light BDSM game with humiliation . If you are not into BDSM, this game will be boring for you, but it's like playing a lesbian game if lesbian sex is not your thing.

Animation are very well done, punishment are not too hard (I like BDSM but not hardcore), and YES, you can punish the girls yourself at a point of the game.

My favorite things are the characters. All girls are different, from the nice shy girl to the athlete and the lesbian not accepting it. You will have to deal with a masochist girl for example : it's hard to punish someone who likes it.

The strangest thing is you don't know if the protagonist is incarnated evil or someone really concerned about the future of those students.

Like others have said, the gameplay is extremely unsatisfying. The game basically holds your hand throughout the entire story and never lets go, as you are told exactly when, where, and how to advance the story.

Worse still, you are told exactly how to "punish" the characters, ie. which actions to take during each position in order to effectively level up each girl. The game is just totally devoid of any excitement, experimentation, or discovery. There's also a disconnect between the player and the main character, as you yourself will have very little input throughout the story. The protagonist is also a self-insert that knows all the answers already.

I would hesitate to call this a management game. It's more like a visual novel. Unsurprisingly, the best moments in the game are those that contain actual choices and outcomes. Such as one branching story path that has you take a dominant or friendly approach with a girl. Or another where you're able to trick one of your teachers into supporting you.

I'd still recommend this as it does a present a fairly unique scenario. If you go into this expecting a management sim you'll be disappointment, because the game does set itself up as one in the introduction. Play it as a visual novel with the caveat that the MC is entirely separate from the player as the game does not even try to immerse the player into the story.

Review:
It's a game that looked promising, has one of my favorite themes which is school setting, however it is a game that will disappoint you a little if you want to enjoy it. You’ll grind a little bit in the game and do the tasks with the NPC, but the MC will not be able to punish and spank his students because the developer has not yet released this function, so you will practically do this, call a teacher to help you and watch the student being punished and spanking in front of you, you will have to do this with certain girls to increase their progression level. To tell you the truth this is quite annoying, having a gameplay like this without a lot of sexual content and with a limited feeling, as they are 3gb of download size and the present content is not satisfactory.
History:
I didn't follow the script and the dialogues of the story very much, but I know it's a little bit interesting. I actually lost a little interest. You were a teacher at an old school who tried to implement your methods of punishing students for bad behavior, your presented methods make everyone shocked and you end up being fired from your school. A principal from another school was watching you and liked your idea and then offers you a job as a teacher at his school.
Gameplay:
A sandbox game, you will need your relationship with students to unlock new tasks and proceed with the game. If your grades reach 0 it will be game over but you can use cheats to increase the ratio and proceed more quickly.
Graphics & Sex Content:
The graphics are good to regulate, the game has animations but are weak in my opinion. The renderings of the models of the characters are good, but another game of the f95 with the same graphics has a better quality. The sexual content of this game is very little, you need to spank the girls to increase your level, but you are not the one who spank the girls and you are another teacher. So, there is no satisfactory sexual content, where you will see vaginal or anal sex. Only HJ or BJ from the students, but not all of them.

So, why I did gave 1 star?
I know it may seem unfair to give a low rating of 1 star, but if you think about it the game is practically boring to play. The idea of the game is quite good, but when it comes to playing it is something else. I played this game in version 3 and only a few things have changed, but it is practically the same thing, not having much sexual content. So, I don't want to just punish and spank up girls, I know that in the future things have changed but until then the development is quite slow. So there is a 3GB download size for you to waste time, unless you like to keep doing the same thing. Anyway, I expected more from this game, especially for someone who played it in version 3 and now in version 8 I didn't feel much of a difference. The gameplay didn’t attract me much, at some point in the middle of the game I didn't have the pleasure to continue, so I think my hopes for this game were wrong to think that it would be a promising sandbox trainer game, there is always grinding and repetition.

There is a lot to say about this game. I'll let you play it instead.

A great start to what is turning into a deep layered story. Will be great to see where this goes. The character models are great and the in game replay menu is a nice touch. Balancing discipline, popularity, and grades is also a nice added difficulty layer for the early game. Almost a non-issue once you get rolling though.

The only thing that annoys me about this game, is having to wait for an update to continue the story...

It's just that good a game that I just want to see how it all ends.
And also annoying that the punishment system isn't finished for all the girls yet.

I truly enjoy this game to much, that whenever I see an update for the Headmaster I do a little jump in my seat and shout "YES... The Headmaster" and can't wait to download and play.

Of all the games here. This would be the game I would gladly pay for, if it was a finished product.

When it's finished, I'll throw some money at the developer. Unless he rushes the end just so he can start a new project etc. I'll pay if it's completely finished, with a good ending.
