dude's been milking for almost 2 years now
Not two years, but more. And you can't say that he's just "milking money and doing nothing." But I'm amazed that the developer still hasn't realised that at his pace of development, this game will never have enough content to justify the amount of time spent developing it, and that this game will never be finished, not because it's so big, but because it hardly develops at all, considering the number of characters in it and the percentage of development that some of them get for updates, which are done once a year.
Although maybe the developer understands all this himself, but he doesn't really care, the cash cows continue to bring in money, which means that nothing needs to be changed for the better and you can even do less.

I fear that too. At this development pace the game will just fizzle out without satisfying conclusion. I am already at a point that I only play every second minor update to get decent amount of content. The last version I played was released at the start of 2024 (0.15.3.1public) and it looks like a stable 0.17 version wont be there anytime soon.

I've been waiting at least 4 updates for buy the printer for the crazy teacher. And in theory, is part of the main mission. He always update side missions and especial events before the main mission.
Clearly found the money hack.

You're playing the game because you want to buy a printer.

I'm playing the game for Arabella, Lucy, Liz, and the other girls . . . the things you're calling "side missions."

And yes, I think the developer HAS found the way to make this game a financial success.

By focusing on the girls, not the printer.

The pattern I've seen is updating the main mission to a milestone, then updating side missions so that all the side girls, etc are in the right place for the next leg of the main story. They do need everyone to be updated to the end of one phase before they can move on to the next because they need the girls to be in a set state for all their background interactions within a phase.

This is definitely the case. What can be easy to forget for those who have been playing for a number of updates is that most of the girls storylines within the relevant chapter they are in run parallel to the main story and can be progressed pretty much simultaneously rather than in a linear fashion so if one was to play a new save from scratch the story progressions would make more sense than they do playing just update after update. Which is a pleasant surprise actually. There are more than a few sandbox style titles out there that trip themselves up on their continuity with updates and quest triggers and the like.

Trying to lock side stories to within a certain section of the main story makes it easier to avoid continuity issues. I have reported a few issues like one girl being in multiple locations at once due to two stories triggering the same day or event A refers to event B in past tense when A and B can appear in any order. It's tricky to write well while at the same time completely avoid such glitches in the storyline. Restricting the number of order combos the player can get without making the player feel it as restrictive seems to be a useful tool for a more fluent story without continuity issues.

Yeah, continuity issues are especially glaring in a game that involves corruption/personality changes. I did a full replay not that long ago and it wouldn't let me do Maxine's fundraiser until I'd completely finished Priti's quest - which, of course, didn't make any sense in the end because her whole thing is about building confidence and learning to rebel, and then in the fundraiser she's more or less back to her sheepish and innocent original persona.

News from Altos and Herdone (HM discord):

"Hey Everyone, Version 0.17 is approaching completion. It’s a big broad update which starts off two new questlines for Faye and the twins, as well as advancing the existing staff training storyline. There are plenty of laughs, plenty of sexy moments as well as some cute and tender ones. Overall, I think there is a lot to enjoy.

I am aiming to release the Beta version to Patrons on the 10$ and above tiers on December 12th. The main release will then be on December 19th to Patrons in the $5 and above tiers. The public release will therefore be on January 16th."

If we are the good childs, Santa Claus or Father Christmas will bring us the update for Christmas!:cool:(y)
The twins are hot stuff, but based on previous updates, I'm 100% sure that nothing serious will happen with them, probably just kissing and standard spanking and pussy play with fingers and stuff like that.
Don't expect anything extraordinary from Faye either, as this is the beginning of her "training," but she has an anal fetish, so there will be something related to that.
The preview also shows a brunette former hooligan with a nose piercing (damn, this has been going on for so long that I've forgotten her name, I only remember that it starts with the letter D). I wonder what she did wrong and whether she will make any real progress, because at the moment she won't let the main character punish her and bring her to orgasm. The maximum interaction with her at the moment is a blowjob, and even that was only to cheer up the main male character before her request... It's a shame, I like this little devil, even though she positions herself as a lesbian, but for some reason she gets turned on by sex between a man and a woman, lol. I don't like pure lesbians in games like this, because they're like a fifth leg on a dog to the main male character...

Does Zoey from the other school still not exist or will she appear in the Chapter 3?
Angelic and malevolent all at once...

She is waiting in the wings... Altos deliberately delayed scripting her entry at SLAG until he reached a point in the game where her storyline could take off straight away.
