I'm just gonna second Altos' post. Mycock Manor only has three updates and they're all fairly small in terms of both writing and renders. The idea that they massively delayed the updates is silly. I'm pretty sure the last Mycocks came before the previous update, so it's not like it delayed the next one anyway.

As for the fundraiser, while Altos did offer a Patreon vote on the format of the fundraiser (IIRC it was like carwash, calendar, something else) I don't think it affected the scope of the update. The fundraiser was always going to be a large advancement of the story and cap off Chapter 2.

So IDK the idea that Patrons are all screwing up the game, or Altos is delaying things by constantly pandering to them is silly. As is the idea that there's massive scope creep just to milk money out of the rubes.

It seems a lot more likely that this is just an involved game, with a larger word count than most people realize, and rendering takes a long time.

That's right, that's why the developers are good at squeezing out as much money as possible without doing anything. That's why we need to keep throwing money at them, and don't care about the game, well, there will be an update once a year for 20-30 minutes and that's fine. If the update doesn't come out - it's no big deal, the developer is just milking the money. You are damn right, idiots with money should be milked to the end. The developers are good for doing this.

And anyway, why do some people think that if someone says a developer is a lazy greedy arsehole, that means the developer should finish the game as soon as possible? Personally, when I talk about the terribly slow pace of development, I mean that it would be good and right if the developer started working normally and honestly, instead of milking money.

Never read such a load of tripe on this forum - and that's saying a lot.

As far as I'm concerned, this game is only at the very beginning. It's supposedly around the halfway point, but our developer has such an expansive imagination, impressively expansive, that I doubt we're halfway. We're just halfway into what he's come up with so far.

Arabella, for example. Her story has barely begun, and she's one of my favorites.

There's so much more . . . for example, I've seen slight foreshadowings of a dungeon underneath the school. That could be my imagination, but . . .

And what about all those other buildings on the map? Does one host a strip club or bondage club, perhaps not involving "our" girls but others?

Who knows?

The point is . . . sometimes a story goes bankrupt, all the ideas used . . . and then you have Fonzie jump the shark because the ideas are all used, there's nothing left to do.

But we're not near to that, not even close. And my imagination, while good, isn't as expansive as our developer's.

Jumping the shark has to be one of the biggest clusterfobar of tropes. Happened S5E3 of 11 seasons, rated well, and the show continued improving and rating better for years. Show didn't decline till competition improved, focus shifted to Chachi, and time-slots were messed with. At the time, original airing, the episode was better compared (ratings wise) to Friends having a wedding in London (season 4 ending)

I am so sorry that I am not producing this free porn game fast enough for you and some others on this forum. I’ve only managed to write 600,000 words, create 17,000 images and over 1000 videos. That's barely six lengthy novels worth. A truly pathetic 100,000 words and ~2000 images a year. You’ve rightly called me out as a “lazy greedy arsehole”, doing nothing but “milking” my poor patrons. Of course you are absolutely right that I should make less money as well. Money, of course, is a famous de-motivator. The more money a person makes the less hard they work, everyone knows that. If only I was making pennies an hour and having to take other jobs to support myself, that’s when the content would really start flowing. Of course, all porn game developers should be paid next to nothing because that would be the best way to attract and keep talent in the industry. So, thank you so much for sharing your wise and well informed opinion; what a great service you are doing for this game and for the community in general.

Ill wait, but one thing i can say is, dont fall into the "sidequest" trap so many other games have done with sidecharacters players dont really care about.
Please focus on the main thing that the players like, the headmaster and the students

A suggestion would be to release short updates : new minor punishement option, sexy event and sex event with the headmaster.

This way people woudn't care that it takes a year to write the next story part.

There are a lot of game in the wilderness, your game has everything to keep people interested : fun story, early sex scene, gallery, cheat for lazy player.

Maybe it would be best to throw smoler bones from time to time, than waiting too much for a big one...

I am not sure of the investissement in MyCock Manor side game, if it's important, better replace it with a lame poll on patreon and a few sexy or sex scenes in The Headmaster.

A suggestion would be to release short updates : new minor punishement option, sexy event and sex event with the headmaster.

This way people woudn't care that it takes a year to write the next story part.

The storylines I write are long and involved. They take a lot of thinking time. It's not possible (for me anyway) to come up with, write and render a meaningful story arc in just a couple of months. Which is what I would have to do to release updates quicker than I do currently. I am usually working on a storyline and rendering bits I'm happy with as I go along. I don't have the luxury of being able to finish my stories before starting to render them. I am still writing important dialogue, even the final weeks of a length update cycle. I would love to get an update out every few months, but that isn't really possible. Not without having had a sigifcant amount of thinking and writing time in advance.
Bigger updates also mean more content overall, as I have less disruption from the release process.
I know the wait is frustrating, but the alternative isn't better I'm afraid.

Altos and Herdone have added an employee to help with development. Costs vary globally, but any employee is going to cost multiple thousands of dollars per month at a minimum.

Going to need a citation that proves they have a fulltime employee, and then justify the speed of development while having a fulltime employee. It's doubtful they do more than 10hrs/month.

Why am I not surprised that the person making very bad points also makes very bad assumption? Even when early access is involved, people rarely pay more than the minimum, and early access is basically only useful one month out of the year, maybe two. When it comes to the name in the credits, that's over the life of the project, not how many currently.

If you make assumptions based on this flimsy of logic, I question why anyone would take anything you say seriously in any part of life. This is what anyone familiar with the Dunning Kruger graph would call "top left behavior".

Person was asking where estimates come from, I was just showing how estimates are possible. That's why I presented the assumptions made. If you feel the need to take this that seriously and be yet another moron thinking their smart for citing dunning-kruger, have at it buddy, you're not going to offend a full-on retard.

I have never said it was 'easy' or even made any complaints about how they develop their game. I have said that they are releasing at a milking pace, and that I don't blame them as it's good business, I only called them out on pretending they aren't milking. I develop quite a few things including games.

I watch many People said patch take more and more time to come.
But i think is normal.
If you read two way for your story, you can do it easy, but for the next, you start with two story and to keep the project identic you make 2 way for eatch first option. So you start the third patch with 4 way. And more work

Of course, I agree with the previous two paragraphs of that quoted fragment about you doing a good job, etc., but I can't agree with that last one entirely. Of course, the whole message is also correct, about a lack of money demotivating, blah, blah, blah, but at the same time (which is sad), too much money can also (and unfortunately often does) demotivate creators. After releasing one or two updates that weren't huge, they didn't notice a drop in revenue, so they make another one that's not as "productive" as they could have, and the money continues to flow. Of course, we're not talking about you, but there are many such creators. So, Patreon and any "passive income" are a double-edged sword. Some might be motivated by, as you described, "because they don't have to worry about bread," while others, on the contrary, don't have to worry about the game because people pay money for anything anyway. And worst of all, such an attitude is much easier to maintain because who wouldn't want to earn the same amount without having to commit?
