Howdy folks,
I am still alive.
Before we get into it, let me give you a little context into what's been going on in my daily life so you all may get a grasp of why I've been a little silent.
As many of you know, America voted in the most worthless pile of shit we could've ever voted into office. One of the really awesome things he did was the tariffs. My day job is doing the in-store signage design for one of the largest retail box stores in the world. The tariffs have basically forced all of us to have to redo all of the signage we've created over the past three-four months in a month.
I've been burning the candle at both ends and the stress got to me. This doesn't excuse my lack of updates. For that I truly apologize. I forget sometimes that I'm doing the game for more than just fun. I will try to do better but I'm only human. Hopefully you all understand where I'm coming from.
Now to what you all want to know and I'll keep it as short as possible while giving you enough of an idea of what we're facing as possible.
I'm currently sitting at about 1126 of the roughly 3000 images we need to redo. I'm about halfway through the update, which will be about 850 images or so.
For the redos, we have to open the old files. These take about 35-45 min each just to open depending on how many people are in the image and/or the size of the environments. One thing to note with our game is that if you see something outside of a window or in the background, it's most likely a 3D model and not an HDRI. So, almost all of the scenes are big.
After I finally get the files open, I copy the characters from the old environments to the new environments, update the lighting and in some cases tweak expressions or poses to make them a bit better. That takes about 20-30 minutes to do.
Finally, our renders take between 2-3 hours to render at 4K so that we maintain the high level of quality you've come to expect.
So, each reworked image eats up about 4 hours time on my computer. This is not a quick fix. I wish it was but it wasn't.
We are still working furiously and will release everything as soon as we possibly can. I'll do my damnedest to keep up with Updates. Moving forward, I'm going to move these to Saturday or Sunday instead of Wednesday so that I'll have more time to get it together and not feel as stressed out.

Just starting this. The weirdest thing to me, so far is that - as tough as the choice is, at the end of the contest, which is just about the time your ex is supposed to get back, all of the main Lis are leaving. The band is going on tour for four months and Mary is leaving for university. I don't think I've ever seen that in a game before - no matter who you choose, at the end you're holding your dick in your hand.

She might actually be up there, except she's not listed as a main li and from the things she's said, I think casual sex when she feels like it is as close as you get. If she was actually going to be a main li and get some serious content/story development I might go that route. (Of course, I also don't think that MC's gf actually cheated - I think she just fucked up with her lack of communication but ... she's not around in any case.)So you're saying that Cris (step-bartender) is the best girl?

She is a main LI actually, same with Seok who's also not listed. I didn't feel any attachment whatsoever to the girlfriend, so I was happy when she left. I actually dislike it when an MC has a girlfriend at the start of a game, one of the most fun parts for me is deciding who I want the MC to be with. But yeah I also don't think that she cheated.

Entanglement: The other guy poured all of himself into that entanglement that he called a relationship, MC calls it like it is, Jada calls it the same after Will calls her out on it - result is the youngest boy cannot hold a relationship to save his life, older sister Willow is polyamorous and likes to totally love everybody (something a comedian was told by his young daughter-she left her friend bacause she suddenly loved a new friend-and he called her a bitch for switching relationships on a dime like that in his comedy sketch: going from guy to guy because the new one appeals to her at some point in some way or another)
Cheating in a relationship is different to sleeping around. MC was led to believe she was doing something, while the truth of the matter was another: having a stalker whom you do not block or repulse says a lot about what is actually going on. So is hanging around (going over to his house to sleep over for weeks) with your supposed suitor - what kind of message does that send into the world?

Huh. That changes things quite a bit because my initial reaction was ‘Fuck your contest and everyone who signed up for it.’ Also - cute and sincere as she might be, it’s a bad idea to get into a relationship with the sister of your best friend, bandmate and boss.

He seems to be aware of it and fine with it to be fair. I think he's well aware that she's had a crush on the MC for a long time. He also knows that the MC is a good guy who would treat her well. Personally I like the younger sister, so...

Made it to the end of the update Cris is still in the lead. Seok is in the running, depending on what happens. (I don't know how you're with anyone else without upsetting her, and I don't know how you ever trust her with another dude.) Mary is pretty but I don't think she's a good fit. I think she needs to go off to university, and enjoy being the popular girl with other people like her. The ones in the contest are out, largely because of the contest but also because they're leaving anyway. I wish I'd been able to tell Lita when she explained it, that it was a stupid fucking idea and the answer would be none of them. The mechanic and the convenience store clerk both might be on the menu if they get more screen time. Caitlin's boss might be on the menu as well, for a little fun at least. Even MC's ex might make it back on the menu, depending on what happens.

I honestly need to do a replay to refresh my memory im terrible with the names in this one ( one of the reasons I started a LI spreadsheet). I recall I ended up liking all of them but Zoey / Zoe or whatever her name is for different reasons. Tho I think Mary would be my #1 pick for an actual relationship cause I just love LI that have that wholesome feel to them. But I don't really think in terms would be best for a relationship but rather just who I like the best in these games since I can't immerse myself in them most of the time or care about a MC.
