cisco_donovan No, I haven't  and probably won't, but do you mind if I use that pun somewhere in game? Something like "Suck my incrediballs!".

senfmann good idea, thanks for trying it out.

TranscendentThots Kind of, but not really. I draw over 3D images to recreate the style in 2D. I mostly use screenshots or fan renderings because I have no idea about 3D modeling.

HELLO THERE:

Wip:
Yes, I'm still working on it, more or less.... I managed to get a six-month internship with a game developer doing 2D animation.
That consumes most of my time and artistic energy.

The game:
I've written large chunks of dialogue and every now and then I manage to finish character sprites.
The good thing about the internship is that I can probably animate the nsfw scenes.

I went through your posts, and I want to say your 2D skills are definitely not mediocre, have some confidence! Rough things around the edges, but you are on a good track! Always good to learn things in any case.

"Doctor, doctor, we have an emergency!"

At this point, we can say that the project has gone from a vegetative state to clinical death.

I just can't find the time or the muse to reopen the project.
If i had to give a conclusion it would be that i have learned a lot.
That a few people on the internet have actually taken an interest in my work is pretty inspiring.

(Even more so in an oversaturatet market like internet porn).

Working on ViT showed me that video games could actually be a professional future and I managed to get a part time job as a backgroudn artist for an indie studio.
(Take small first steps)

Here's the unceremonious ending, like at the oscars yesterday.
(Did you see that Al Pacino fucked up... Is he old older high?)

Thanks for reading my posts :)

I'm really sad to hear that, I've just come across these posts and I think there was a lot of potential, but I'm very happy that you were able to find a job thanks to this, I'm a student in video game development and freelance developer for individuals, I hope to find a project as good as this one one day.

Hey Mr Tur Tur, I enjoyed reading through your thread! I wished I followed it in real-time when you were still active.

Glad to hear your 2D animation game development internship! Well deserved! Your art skill is the opposite of mediocre! If you think yours is bad, I wouldn't want to look at mine anymore. I love your colour choices, they make your BG art images truly POP!

You come across as friendly and enthusiastic, and not only that, you put yourself to work and learned as much as you could! I'd be thrilled if you decided to return to solo game dev and continued this project. Either way, all the best with your internship! Cheers! <3

Holy shit! Mr. TurTur I love the new art!

Remember, a project isn't dead unless you decide to not work on it ever again.

I've never been really good with background and ambient images, but I think the living room works pretty well.

I'm not sure how I'm going to set up the basement yet.
I really like your backgrounds.

I am curious though, sometimes you have very clean flat shading and line work but other times you opt for very noisy textured objects (example, the wooden door / cement steps for the basement)

Do you find these styles clash or are they intended for contrast?

What's your thought process or is it just "in progress" ?

Mr. TurTur your comeback is unespected but very appreciated!
The new art look sick! There is nothing better than opening an old project you liked and putting in some hours of work!

AN ARTIST IS ASHAMED!!!!

Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.

For the last postet sprites i used some....

AI
Screenshot 2025-02-17 132522.png

Let me explain why, how and then some general thoughts on the use of AI.

How and why?

I used it for reference.
I've had various views of Violet and Helen generated for me to base my character sprites on.

If you look at my old posts, Violet always looks different. This is because my “Draw Human” fundamentals are very poor. Without reference, I'm not consistent enough and I'm afraid that would break the Ermersion. So I use the AI that was trained on the movie Incerdibles to guide me. I don't see it any different than drawing directly from the movies or a jointed doll.

I didn't trace over them, I redrew them in my own way.

Here is an example:

ComfyUI_temp_oanqz_00002_.png

General thoughts about AI.

This is a personal opinion that will change over time.
I don't want to start a discussion, but I feel obligated to justify myself to strangers on the internet

As artists, we are screwed.
At least as small/beginning artists.

AI could replace the things we don't have the time or desire for, but it will take over the things we don't want to pay for.
And artists are expensive.
I think “real/emotional” human art will grow to become a luxury product.

On a personal level, I think it's a pretty good tool. It can help you and support you. There's probably a danger of relying on it too much, but if you're making art to express yourself and enjoy the process of working, it's probably a good protection. I think At the moment you still need creativity and a sense of visualization to use it properly.

Is AI art art?
Wording-wise: yes
Emotionally:
no, but a human can make it art by the way they use/present it. or whatever

But Jimmy from Highscool who makes “Big titty gwar gura in naruto style” is not an artist.

Thanks for reading, I hope that's not too far-fetched
