Was he doing this full-time? Initially, I thought it was more of a side project. However, the developer was investing a surprising amount of effort into crafting the story for what seemed to be primarily a porn game. With not many players caring about the plot, and likely a lot just skimming through the dialogues, his efforts appeared lost in a very small niche.
I can't help but wonder what would happen if he removed all sexual content and released the game as a normal visual novel. After all, sex doesn't seem crucial to the plot, and that's where the developer invested most of his effort. There's ample material to rebrand it as a fantasy novel. Perhaps a simple renaming of the game and a fresh attempt might yield different results. Maybe that way, the game could reach a broader audience, one that simply craves an interesting story.
