basically same bad combat, clunky ui, atrocious dialogue and quest systems in shinier wrapping
switching to easier engine wont help structural deficiencies in the (yet to be presented) 'open(ish) world' part either, in fact since ue is notoriously bad with resources, id expect real clown fiesta to be unveiled there

I cant open the stone door/wall , its saying I look like a cultist, well I am dress & have the axes, so what should I do?

u have to wear the barbarian outfit, its in a seperate gated room; first u have to get the lever out of the skeleton, then u open the small room, if u run into the brown furniture u automatically dress up.

but there is no more content after the gate.

Yes it's planned. The main challenge atm is make smut scenes automatically adjust to customization morphs. This is what I'm working on.

While i like almost everything in this game, I still wish there was an option to use a cuter protagonist.
I know it would go against the name of the game (Barbarian).
But it would be nice to "get used" as a cute girl instead, like one of the Elfs.

As a side note, I really like the feature of the clothing not being removed during sex scenes, and the fact we need to adjust them once the sex scene is done.
Though I hope we're able to do the opposite as well (expose the Barbarian whenever we want), maybe even being able to "undress" only specific parts of the outfit without removing it completely.

I guess... or perhaps the dev just wants to get off the Unity train before they change their mind again.

Frankly, UE5 is more comfortable to use. Like there are a lot of built in options to dev the game.
For example:
LOD generation are not available in Unity by default.
The lightmap generation in the Unreal is much more comfortable to use.
UE have ability to make/edit animations right inside the game without addition tools.
All this options force me to switch. It was hard to switch because of learning curve, but now I have enough knowledge to work with UE

I honestly don't know how to feel about this. The new engine looks far better but the old game isn't complete yet and I have to question if this isn't going to turn into another 6 year milking project.

Well, I hope to spend less time on this project since I already have a completed story as a foundation to work from. On the other hand, although Unreal Engine (UE) is convenient, working through many elements takes more time. For example, in the original game, most scenes didn’t have specific endings and were simply repetitive animations. Here, each scene has its own progress animations, as well as transitions between scenes, which are also animated manually.

In any case, my approach to publishing updates remains the same: Older versions become public over time. Newer ones are made available to supporters.

And as before, I see no point in trying to counteract leaks of closed versions of the game on f95 by implementing any kind of protection, as it could greatly harm the gaming experience for everyone. Therefore, I disagree with your claim about 'milking the project,' considering my track record of regular updates. Everyone makes their own choice about whether or not to support the project, and I’m very grateful to everyone who does
