The problem I had with the Unity Version is that it was so easy to break it by doing almost anything story related way out of order to the point that it breaks the save and soft locks often if the player is not carefully trying to stay in the normal progression.
If it were me, I would make sure that my story related scenes arent unlocked from the word go and make them unlock and trigger themselves in sequence based on what state of that questline they are at.
Just an idea.

Otherwise i had a bit of fun with the original but was waiting for a more complete story, and maybe a few more of the bugs and above issues worked out.
I'm just making a guess but it looks like it back to the begginning in the new engine. Here we go waiting again.
