After you check the computer, you have to leave Orehurst through the north and head back to the academy. There, Collin will talk to you about finding Janus. You'll have to collect trash around the academy, however, ONLY collect 9 of them, otherwise the game will softlock. Once you're prompted to check the 3rd floor, do so.

well, I'm fucked because I did just that and its game breaking, there is no way in fucking hell, I'm starting a 3rd new game.....

I think that's a puzzle. You're supposed to make it to the top of the map by fighting your way through without seeing where you're going.

go to OP and download the current version which was updated specifically to fix that

-Fixed a bug which caused particles to be constant on one map in the game.

No, the game is not abandoned. It just takes a while between each and every update.

I also, for some reason, probably had the developer's save alongside my download an I lost all my previous progress from 3.6, so I'm trying to muster up the energy and desire to replay the game all over again before I make the walkthrough.
