Is there any way to track in-game values in real time as I'm playing? I mean things like RP, country scores, and various event-specific counters.
I'm using RPGM save editor to dig into save files for that, but it takes an extra step of saving and loading that save into the editor and I want to skip that.

The worst example is how can be impossible to get the last harem member if, lets say, you could not fund the eustrin embassy in Ardford for the simple fact that you did not have enough Pron, wich will make way harder later on to get open the war vault, and after like 50 hours or so you cannot get the last harem member because of that outcome.
But that is exactly the point: the game actually tells you what you must have (one supplier, once processor and one manufacturer) and it is more then possible to get to Eustrin while having all three (meaning Megail doesn't keep any funds back).

In that case, every single investment option in Eustrin is completely optional and it is up to you what you'll focus on: profits or influence. Game actually tells you that while investing in Embassy will not be profitable it could be more then worth it down the line due to influence you'd get by doing it. If you still choose profits after that it's not game's fault you can't get best results later on... that is entirely on you. Not to mention that Eustrin supplier is inferior option that you shouldn't invest anyway.

but the story is truly better than many AAA RPGs.
To be honest, I don't think that many AAA RPGs try to tell 'the story', with the character growth, thematic coherence and all that. What I mean is that the stories in them, including the ones people praise, function like a supply line of content.

I have some qualms about "The Last Sovereign", but it's comparable, at least when we consider the western RPGs, with some Chris Avellone's stuff (like Planescape: Torment, NWN2: The Mask of the Betrayer, KOTOR 2) or something like Disco Elysium in what this game tries to do with the story.

I mean like it's a very clear power fantasy about the value of love, strategy and cock in the crapsack world. It's as tight as a harem game with collect-all-the-girls mechanics can possibly be.

I'm really glad that indie gaming (let's call it that for the lack of a better term) allows to create something so cool.
