This is the best western RPGM game I played or "porn game" in general. It's well written, very colorful cast, there's no "grinding" and your CHOICES actually do matter.

I put off Elden Ring so I could listen to Orcent's philosophical talk about existence. I'll never get bored listening to this dude

Of course it's the same developer of Crimson Gray. Holy shit.
Thats worth trying? I looked up her older games and loved Desacration of Wings, but I wasnt sure about the theme for Crimson Gray, sounded like it would be dark rather than fun.

I should probably have tried it anyway, SL does make wonderful games.

Crimson Gray asks the question: What happens when a Yandere falls in love with a clinically depressed boy?

I stopped playing after the IK prison began, and seeing how massive the guide for that one section it makes me a bit wary about continuing it. How long does it take to get through that section?

Hard to say for sure, but maybe 2-3 hours for someone not very good at gameplay but following the guide. Let's say double that without the guide.

If you don't care about the <classic collectibleTM> (shining sword) or the incubus sword, you can just use the holy crystals to get OP gear and skip most of the prison.

And how do I do that? Only looked at the beginning of the map, then read through the guide and the constant loadout swaps felt like a hassle.

The Incubus gear is likely to play quite an important role in the final part.

The bits collected so far have added points to certain actions during the wars.

Yeah but if you've skipped all until now you might as well do the easy version of the prison eh.
Tbf my save is a 100% one up till that point in regards of equipment, stats, investments, conclifct outcomes, etc, maybe I missed a few shining swords that so far played 0 importance. Regardless, the IK prison section seemed super tedious by the descriptions and made me put the game on hold for a while.

Ah in that case I can only tell from personal experience I found it fun. The combat is a lot more focused on weaknesses and resistance to debuffs because you are somewhat underpowered. This made it new and interesting for me. I can see how it would put you off tho so its fully up to you but I found it quite fun to 100% this game inside a game.

That's exactly what doesn't sound fun to me, and never liked about the game. For example when I did the three Tanurak nodes before the IK war, accidentally I went into one with the team from the previous one, forgot to save before the battle, and the auto-save saved me at the point where the battle began with a team that was completely useless against it. Regardless how I struggled, I had to revert to a save file which made me lost 3 hours of progress and I was super pissed. I play a lot of RPGs and MMORPGs, and I do find it enjoyable to do different runs with different loadouts, sets, character classes, but not when I am forced to it, especially in the same run. To me, when you constantly have to swap teammates, equipment, right before a battle just because of the type of enemies where your usual team will be useless or way less effective as it would be, is tedious because eventually I will forgot to swap out something, especially if I have to do that constantly.
