I imagine one reason for the bad ratings is that the choices are more for 'flavor'. ie, if it's not a bad end then you just see one of two scenes. You either see the one or the other and the game then proceeds the same regardless of which you took. I don't mind that in this case, but in some less interesting stories/games it can be tedious.

Well, I can understand why people like games where a lot of choices that do make some differences, but there is a huge drawback to it - the more such choices the shorter the main story. The developer spends a lot of time creating different versions of the same events and as a result there is less content for one single play.
Personally, I think in this game the developer should have sticked to the idea where every small choice wouldn't change the events of the game in general (as it's now mostly), but depending on whether the main character fights or follows the orders of that other lawyer throught the game (where you choose "fuck you" or "I shouldn't upset her and better do what she says), the ending should have been different, for example in one case she becomes a loyal happy slave and in another she kill her tormentor.

"The lawyer" is a much better game than I expected. Ok, the graphics (and the used models) are not my cup of tea. But the fetishes and the story are absolutely what I enjoy. I hope FB will support a similar path or two where the mc gets humiliated that much.

Is it intentional that the start of the story has her thinking to herself "I'm the bestest lawyer ever in the world!" only to completely botch her own case with its numerous blatant constitutional violations? Even a first year law student could have argued better. The subtext being that she was blatantly paying off witnesses and made it so obvious that literally everybody was sick of her shit and went along with the charade.
It does get a bit repetive that the rest of her monologes are basically "shit, fuck, I gotta do it because my butt hurts too much, I'll get back at them someday, somehow!".

Susan isn't the main character no one of then are, only Emma is. I don't care about Susan and the little bitchy daughter of Susan's friend. Susan deserve be in jail, like others pricks. Emma need the big fucking revenge over them. I liked when she cut the throt off a that bitchy Susan. she deserved, Emma need kill that little girl who tricked her.
I agree, I would have liked to have more crass revenge ending. Even people who are not into the fetishes in the game might enjoy a good revenge story with a satisfying ending. So it could be worth adding one in a future game.
And honestly the options for payback was the only thing that kept me playing.

I will probably hate it like i did with "Devis Life" (that why i love it lmao), anyway, there is any fix for res higher than 1080p? Is the first game in ren'py that appear me like this (i'm playing in 4k) and is hardly enjoyable...
Yes, I wished there was a mind break option for Emma. Perhaps there could be a Ch.4 as an ending?

well, the game is... i'd say normal, crazy ofc but normal, i think the main difference with Devin was the affection you could had with the mc and this ofc had a big impact; in The laywer i think there was not time sufficient for know her better and the days are just insanely fast, 1 event for day is the common ( did i miss a cg where the phone were stolen or its just not there?).
Nice fx and there is also a "good ening" (ye lets say it is) but the game is short and there's no insights for any chars, cg are usually good but sometimes i really felt that something is missing.
