This keeps being one of my preferred games. The revelation that the wonder drug, besides being a female aphrodisiac, is also a rejuvenation treatment makes the story all the more exciting and wholesome for the transhumanist me. The final plot twist, albeit phoned a mile away for the genre-savvy me, leaves me terribly curious about the motivation for the corporation to want to bury the treatment.
Apart from the executives being anti-transhumanism religious or ideological fanatics, which is theoretically possible but seems unlikely, what plausible gain would they have from suppressing the discovery? Even if say they are in the established business of selling stuff that is used in old age, the potential benefits of selling a youth pill, which the vast majority of people would want, seem to dwarf any realistic gain they might reap from the status quo. I could understand if they planned to apply a massive price hike, but outright suppression seems unreasonable.
I am also curious to see how the main cast may manage to derail the acquisition if the boards already approved it. Maybe by going public about the corp's intentions with evidence (which is their task to gather in the appropriate subplot of the next few updates) and letting public pressure derail the deal? I can easily see an outraged public opinion applying irresistible pressure on the corp if it fears the promised boon of a rejuvenation treatment being snatched away from them. We already know from the last update that public awareness and expectations about this discovery are all-high. I can also see the government stepping in. In the end, Shkreli-style shenanigans did not come to a good end in RL.
