Hey guys,

Greetings adventurers.

It's been a slow week numbers wise because I've been working on a battle scene series. The renders are taking longer to cook than normal because they have a lot of vegetation. Plants can slow down the rendering process.

I had hoped to do a series of special renders this week, I lost a day as I ended up in hospital, it's complicated. I decided to keep focusing on game content so I didn't slip behind. I'll see how the week ahead goes. Anyway, bedrest for the rest of the month, but I'm setup for that, so its only the hospital part that slows me down.

Garbage? I saw that scene as very important in terms of world building and setting the scene for the conflict that will come later.

There's no good reason as to why Charlotte needed to be naked and molested. The exact same result could have easily been achieved if Jacinta had shown up when Charlotte was still clothed.

But then you would have missed the conversation about his history of doing this to women (and what her fate would have been). You do you though. Plenty of games out there.

There was a good reason. To show how dire the situation was, and how close she was to oblivion. Your personal sensibilities has no effect on that. However..... you're right that it could've been done differently. But this is how they chose to do it.

It would also serioously lack the shock and emotional value if it was done any other way. it was designed to shock, annoy, upset and make you angry (as well as, like you say, shopw the exact brevity of the situation she found herself in and show what a cunt Reabus actually is).

Was done perfectly.

I'm sorry you are disappointed with that scene. I'm not going to defend my choices, but I will explain why I included it and why I took it as far as it did. What you do with that is up to you.

The first reason is Charlie herself. This event has a huge impact on her story line. She was wary, she tried to do the right thing, but it wasn't enough. She is understandably very distressed by it all afterwards when she has time to reflect. Like the MC, Charlie has lost her naivety and it fuels her feelings of inadequacy going forward. I can't say much more as I don't want to spoil Charlies path for others. I will say, this scene has a considerable impact on Charlie going forward and you will see some of that impact in the next release.

The second reason, it shows the depravity Rebeus has sunk too. He is only 18 and has lived a charmed life. Yet, he is already a sick fuck scrapping about the lowest point a human can go, slavery and sex trafficking. Charlie (and other girls) rejected him and Rebeus is such a selfish asshole he lashes out in one of the worst possible way. There Rebeus contrasts with the MC. The MC isn't perfect, but he wants to do better and do good in the world, even though he has had it pretty rough by a princely standards.

The third reason, the slave trade is ugly. Human trafficking is not pretty in any world, make believe or real. In the real world, humans (mostly female, but also males) are treated a lot worse than Charlie was. I don't want people to feel good about it. It's an ugly subject on any level and I won't hide it and make it feel all warm and fuzzy. I want people to be confronted by it.

Kinda like the end of the chapter, we don't actually know who it was (not for sure) yet but Aussie is definitely taking chances. I can't think of any games where the Dev killed a Li and didn't take a hit for it - for me it's been game killing on a few occasions.

Hey Lords, Ladies and free people,

This week:

I added new tome entries.

Continued rendering the some complex scenes that took a long time to work through. I'm still recovering from my hospital visit from last week, but it isn't interfering with my ability to set up and process renders.

I did some editing of the next two chapters, mostly continuity adjustments. I have all the chapters written, but they are just a draught until they aren't.

I looked at several ways to do movie animations. I'm still looking at that. I'd like to have that sorted by the end of Ch3.

I was asked about the future chapters. The story will be mostly Kinetic until the middle and then there will be branching.

I'm about 50% of the way through the renders for the next update. I'm not going to put time frame on it though.
