Nah, my immersion is constantly broken with those scenes. I would skip them if I could. Asphyxiation and acid would be a big killer in those environments. Anything that threatens your survival is not a thing I want to be doing, and when those scenes happen, I call BS. The MC should be dying when he gets eaten, those scenes should be bad endings.
