This is the first game that has ever brought a tear to my eyes... I started playing this thinking I might rub one out and next thing I know I'm all emotional and sad and shit. By the time time it did get to some lewdness, I feel guiltly for being horny in the first place. Game had me all fucked up

Most would find my views of AVNs weird and stupid because I don't like to play them for the lewd stuff 85% of the time, I like the story, and AVNs are the only games I have found that feel like they could be someone's story and not just a fantasy world. Yeah, I am like no other degenerate on this site, I like the ones that are just a straight fuck fest, but I honestly prefer to play games like this one over them. But these style AVNs are few and far between, and usually are abandoned early on because they aren't liked as much as the other types of AVNs out there, so I am really happy to see this one getting the love this style of AVN deserves, and hope to see it finished one day.
Honestly, this one is a great example of 10/10 storytelling. there are a few little nitpicks, like why he hasn't told certain people certain things, but honestly, I get why he hasn't because people will look at him different if they knew what just happened in his life they would pity him and treat him like he is broken but he just want's to have a semblance of normalcy back in his life so he is trying to keep his pain to himself. To me, the story does a good job of not feeling dragged out for too long on one topic, like a lot of other AVNs of this type are. It all flows nicely together and is, overall, a good read.
I can't wait to see what is to come in the future. I don't know if a kind of harem ending is planned, where the status quo as of right now is kept, and he is in a more or less open relationship with everyone, or if we will have to pick one in the end. I hope the dev can make a happy ending for all of the characters.

also, not all good ending is happy ending, sometimes little bit tragic is good too. The tragic will be the "explanation" why should the happiness is matter.

Yeah, I expect a meaningful ending, but I'm pretty sure the onion ninjas will hijack it. There's enough happy endings in the average massage parlour style AVN's that I can accept something completely different from this, even if there is no sunset to ride off into.

It will be very meaningful i think, since its about MC's journey to find clarity and his own happiness. I'm starting to think that we must take all the path whatever it is to romance all LI or one of them or no romance at all, since all the path have different situation yet it connect each other. I think the good ending will hardly possible if we take only 1 path.

I doubt there will be a 100% good ending, but a best possible outcome in the situation. And it's possible that being on all the paths will give a complicated ending with more details, but not the best ending. All I know is that we will want to try more than one save to see all the different details.

Before I start the first progress report, I would like to thank you again for the many positive responses to Chapter 3. Support on Patreon has also more than doubled compared to Chapter 2, which will be very helpful in the near future. However, I'm already dreading the conversation I'll have to have with my local tax authority next year, when I'll have to explain to someone, probably an older person, what an AVN is, why people give me money for it and why I do it as a hobby. Thanks for that =D
A small change regarding progress reports for your information. The posts will still be publicly visible to everyone, but paying members will now be able to see them 7 days earlier.
Now, on to Chapter 4. As you can probably see, some of the bars in the bottom row of the report have already moved significantly. During my short break, I didn't stop working on the game completely, as usual, but continued to make progress from time to time. As a result, all the animations for the next chapter are now finished. Scene 3 ran without any problems and did not require any corrections after rendering. For Scene 2, I only had to rework two of the eleven animations, which is not bad either. Scene 1 is currently rendering. This is the first scene that I have created with simulated hair movements, so I expect to have to make more corrections here. My rendering system will probably be busy with this for another two to three weeks.
I'll begin with the static renders shortly. The regular weekly progress reports will start on 19 September.

This looks intersting, i would be curious to get a insight into the devs planning and work structure, considering he estimates very specific numbers for some scenes like 716, 268, 124 and so on

jPk's meticulous, but also understands the law of diminishing returns - so he doesn't endlessly stress over whether something is perfect, but whether it communicates what he intended. He also understands working with intent, and (as you can see), breaking everything down into more manageable chunks. The animations are probably the most effort and frustration vs the time taken, and the payoff for the game.
Based on the fact jPk writes the script for each chapter first, it'll be broken down into individual statements, each needing a render. He'll know from the script where we want something to happen visually that is wordless (ie Madelyn at Ella's tree, the MC crossing the road) and work out how many renders are needed for that or for a phone ring or a transition. So writing to some extent is mapping it out as well.
At least that's how I connected how he's told me various things.
He also hates it when some smart arsed duck suggest things like mobile phones and tv screens should glow and be light sources.
I must be tired because all females on the screenshots have facial expressions like Jerry right here

If I had to choose a LI to end up with at this point in the game, it would be Lisa 100%. Every other relationship feels too ... messy.
Hailey is a child, and an employee. Happy to help her with her issue and send her into the world, but there's no long-term relationship there. Also her roommate is headache.
Sarah, imo, is going to be a constant reminder of Madelyn's last day in the hospital once that revelation is brought out. The vibe just isn't right.
Tanya is all the way out. I'm happy that MC has found a sister-in-law, but anything romantic or sexual would just be too weird.
Linda suffers from the same issue as Hailey, in that she is an employee. I like her more than Hailey though because she's more age-appropriate and mature.
Lisa however, is amazing. Her feelings for the high society class is the same as MCs, she doesn't have any previous history with him besides seeing him tying Maddy's shoe, so I find her relationship and interest more pure.
The only way I would even consider doing anything with Vicky would be if Ben died, and even then there would have to be a time skip in the game. I adore Ben and Vicky's relationship with each other, and they've been amazing friends to MC so there's no way I would go there otherwise.
And the fact that this story seems to be mapped out already, makes me very eager for the next chapter. Keep up the good work, Dev!
