True, now that I think of it. The MC didn't even cross-check it. Also, 99.9% for supposedly a half-sister?
Indeed . Siblings have a range from 30-60% DNA due to the two parents. A 99.xx% match would suggest is the same person.

So possibly MCs wife's death was faked , or MCs father being this mysterious super wealthy bastard, which MCs mother and Charlotte hate with a passion, and is a eugenicist and Maddy 2.0 is a clone.

Or the result is fake, and Maddy-2 is an unrelated close friend (hence why all the hints on Ella's side about her) of Ella's from the orphanage, who got news of her widowed husband being rich, disguised herself to look like her, and came to take her place.

Anyway, I feel like her and Lily are gonna be late game "alternate MGs" - their eyes are on the loading screen above the three primary MGs.

Anything is possible. These are only theories of course.

Context will come with each new episode, naturally. Its a good sign of a well written AVN that we have the chance, in between episodes, to think about possibilities with these characters and their intentions.

man i wish there was an option to tell madelyn to fuck off. i don't know if it's only me but she seems very suspicious. conveniently finding you not long after your daughter dies even though she has known about her supposed sister for 4 years. none of her dialogues feel genuine.
The one suspicious thing to me was how Madelyn was describing her biography almost word-for-word the same as Claire did it, as if she knew what and where MC could learn about her, and was covering for that. Otherwise, she's played as a completely 'straight' character, and it seems like the dev trusts her.

I am wondering if the whole 99% DNA is simply a McGuffin to move the plot along by leaving no doubt (to the layman) that Madelyn is related to Ella.

In terms of Madelyn being genuine, I guess that depends how literally you take the scenes featuring the spirits of Ella and Maddie. The look at and touch Madelyn at the memorial in a way that suggests they know she is family.

You missed a thing about her in Chapter 3 that you could add to your theories :Kappa:
There's only a few things I can think of, but part of me feels like this might be a trap... ah, who cares, I'll give it a go!
  1. Madelyn's love of writing mimics Ella, aside from Madelyn being a professional writer
  2. Zorro#34 pointed out that Madelyn and Lily's eyes are present in the loading screen that just so happens to contain the three main LIs (this might be a red herring)
  3. The end sequence with Madelyn feels a bit too on the nose with her stating she "would never dare to even try taking someone's place", only for Gregory to immediately encourage her to do just that by "being herself" (i.e. be like Ella)

As for Madelyn's intentions being nefarious, I'm not sure she has any ulterior motive with the MC considering she didn't really know about his existence (and by contrast neither did Charlotte until she researched his company). In some ways she resembles a young Ella who was rather isolated and forgotten, and as Gregory states "even as some things are lost to us, others are found". It feels quite symbolic (almost literally) that Madelyn is the MC's missing piece, and vice versa.

if anyone is damaged goods it's the MC :HideThePain:
Definitely.
I like Lisa, and she was stunning at the meeting.
If she has a sub kink, I'm not going to say no.
Overall, I find her the most interesting character so far.
And I hope we get to see more of Lyn, she was cute. I like games who aren't afraid of letting us interact with kids in a normal way.

I don't put much stock in big Madelyn having nefarious intent, but things would have been clearer if, in chapter 1, the timeframe when Madelyn visited and Lisa gave her access to the orphanage's old records were a bit more precise. If it were prior to Maddy's death, it would have eliminated the vector of her preying on MC after losing Maddy. Instead, Lisa only says "not so long ago".

I'm literally curious now, why ppl suspicious to Madelyn's intention?

I mean, she's literally the most prettiest LI in the game. And she's redhead too. Redhead always WIN!

1. I feel like there's a bit too many coincidences and convenient details in her story. The Madelyn name, both girls being writers, father reappearing just to give a name, mother being dead, the girls having different mothers…
2. I think that getting an identical replacement for both the wife and the daughter is a bit too "on the nose" and belittles Madelyn herself as a character, like Ben said. Her whole character right now is Ella's sister, Maddy's namesake, not a separate person. A twist where she's an impostor who grows to love the MC and regret her ruse could shift the attention from the dead and back to her.
3. I like twists in general. Except those making a LI a different kind of girl entirely, I hate those.

Loved episode 3. The dynamics between Emily and Hailey is so fun to follow. I wonder if there is a path to get freaky with Emily with destroying Hailey's heart. I'm excited for the next chapters.

I only played Hailey route I will play Lisa route now that I met her at the meeting I'm intrigued to see what happens if you interact more with her before
