I couldn't figure out how to reply to the PM you sent Alcahest, and I couldnt open a new PM with you, so I'm just doing this :')
I've deleted the code leak as per your request, to answer your question I have felt several times and moreso throughout the mid-late game that I am simply constantly re-visiting each location as if i were a mindless droid.
The primary issue I have experienced is a lack of visual or written indicator as to when something will happen, such as in the chapel with the visits of certain characters, for example, particularly the adulterous wife. She has a rather long cooldown between visitations and with no written indicator of when she will visit again, I find myself forced to metaphorically slam my head against the chapel over and over until something happens.
This is solved with detective mode only showing the chapel when story progressive NPCs appear, but it could be useful to have the npcs directly state when their next visit will be so that players without detective mode can note down when to next expect a visit and when they should follow up on things. The solution requires mental tracking and note taking compared to the comfort that detective mode provides, but solves the monotony of the core issue with the gameplay style.
