Well, not really, MC has an afinity to Magic, that is all, what his sister has we don't have any solid proof.
So MC affinity probably does come because of the origins of his Dad, Fiona say's that that Child is Human and MC's dad has both parents alive till they were killed by Neverwhere Cartell.
In contrast to the Child which lost it's parents durning the events instigated.

I suspect that the child Fionna rescued is Steroid Kevin - second suspect would be MC, who has more than an afinity to magic - he's gifted at it beyond normal human levels. When he saw that cloaked - whatever it was - the thing that tried to kill Medb in Neverwhere, Kajia said that only the most gifted human wizards can do that, and then only after years of study and days of preparation. MC just saw it, without any training or preparation.

Same thing with the Succubus - humans aren't supposed to be able to resist them at all, at least without training and both of those things are before he got the sword.

Assuming, of course, the MC's dad wasn't essentially adopted. Do we know for sure that's not the case?

I definitely agree it's not super likely though. I'm just speculating about who potentially interesting characters could be for Fiona to have saved, and the circumstances under which it might have happened.

Oh damn you, now my curiosity is nagging and I have to replay the whole Fiona path just to see if I get a hint if the character really is that intersting, or it was just Fionas Guilt that motivated her doing.

I don't think there are any more clues but I think we're going to find out some stuff (on the Fionna path) next update. We're supposed to spend the weekend with her at her cabin in the woods. I kindof imagine that she'll tell us *something* useful during that.

Kate, being related to Mac, is probably also not entirely a normal human. I'll honestly be surprised if there's any major characters that aren't tied to Neverwhere or the main story in some way.

Aside from that - she glances at you briefly on the subway, then the next day (IIRC) happens to be at the same bar as you and takes you straight to bed ... I don't think it's a coincidence. I think she's there on purpose (what purpose, I have no idea).
