It could be interpreted as :
That she's preparing to do what templars are supposed to(Kill demons/xenos? and chew bubblegum).
And not work the inner political shenanigans of the council to live another day.
Sort of a tangential similarity with GoT is that the OG Targaryen established his rule to prepare the continent for White walkers, while his descendants just fight to have control of the continent without a care for the OG intentions.
On an unrelated note:
It would be "funny" to see in the next chapter where MC and Medb or Ailil discusses/describes the cause of death of Finna and mentions that she was also "raped" since they found human DNA traces in her, and the camera cuts back to MC looking absolutely uncomfortable

if he did do the deed with her.
