To be fair, if you go all in on love points her dialogue changes and she does feel really bad about it and feels pretty heartbroken... But lies anyway so what does that say about her.
where does she lie ? she is pretty open about all,

I talk a lot of shit about Kaija and I mean it mostly (like 75%). She's a shitty girlfriend.

even when she “tells the truth” she’s still lying or she’s really bad at her job. What kind of bodyguard is only there a day or two a week, out late most nights and can’t even respond to a text from the person she’s supposed to be guarding. She wasn’t there to protect MC and tbh the first time I played I was ready to dump her before I knew about the Templars just because she was so absent.

By omission for not telling the MC what's up and choosing her Job over MC and claiming she loves MC the most but clearly loves duty to nebulous and ill conceived orders more?
well, what can I say, seems you picked other dialoge options in the Headquarters than me, anyway, but since I'm handicaped and not native english speaker my reading comprehension is surely not so good, maybe I should wait till this is translated in to German so I can understand.

Linnae is no great shakes, IMHO. Admittedly, she's willing to take (non-idiotic) action rather than sit around and hope God will show up to sort things out, which does put her in the top quartile of the Council. But then she insists on resigning even before the Grandmaster is returned, effectively handing the reins back to the morons she'd just saved from themselves. Yay?

I mean, I respect Cincinnatus as much as the next guy, but he didn't resign his office until AFTER the crisis was resolved.

It's certainly possible. We don't know much about the Templars, but Kaija's line in Chapter 1 certainly implies lineage (or at least heritage) is significant.

That said, I don't get the impression the Council was interested in wresting control away from the MC's dad. If anything they seem to have become reliant on him for guidance, to the point they're practically paralyzed while he's gone.

Oh, I would argue a strong leader should develop a competent team beneath him. I have no love for the MC's father and very little respect for his abilities based on everything we've seen so far. He's a terrible leader and a worse father.

I was merely pointing out that he can't be *the worst* leader ever because the rest of the Templar Council has that position locked up solid. Being better than the literal worst is not much of an accomplishment. Sadly, that's pretty much all he has going for him. :(
Linnae is better than him, but as I told before, when he is acting as a ruler he has a final say and the council is just to advise him. In his absence they took the reins and as the decision making depends of voting they started endless discussions about even the smallers things. If you put one in charge, they will run a lot smoother
