With the same motivations as his family and girlfriend. These inconsistencies really bother me. On the other hand, he had no problem with Fiona.

I think this makes the Characters more alive, they all have flaws, what the players have, it is only human to judge something and condemn it, but act the same without being aware of it.
The same what Tremonia , pointed out earlier, about Kaija.
Edit: with Fiona he had no problems since she knows Neverwhere, and is openminded, about magic.

Depends on your choices. You have an option to forgive them.

I'm following Elea's path, and Alex is doing the exact same things to her. With the same motivations as his family and girlfriend.

I haven't played Elea's path and haven't seen any options to tell her much.

But people who are unable or unwilling to put themselves into other people's or even their own family member's shoes, so they might understand the reasons of their wrongdoings and possibly forgive them if their motives were understandable, don't tend to analyze their own behavior too often, either. And they often do end up being hypocrites and possibly repeating the same path they were upset with these other people.
(I've done it myself a lot when I was younger and much dumber. Now I've been more mindful about my own behavior and trying to be more understanding and forgiving to others and myself. But I'm sure I still do these mistakes on a smaller, less significant scale.)

IMHO, I don't see much contradiction there. People are flawed and often unable to look at themselves in the mirror and think about their own behavior.

Different levels of trust for different kind of characters, I guess? I can't really speak much for Elea, so I won't.

I don't see any issue with not telling Elea about it. For one it's more likely something she wouldn't believe unless he shows prove. Not just that if I recall correctly it has been said some powerful people tend to make people "disappear" if they talk about Neverwhere to average Joe's to much. Not just that he knows she has an obsession with studying old weapons and alike and he knows how dangerous Neverwhere is. I think Elea would 100% dive right in to try to find some knowledge and get her self in trouble because of her Hobby / obsession.

I mean I thought it was kind of out of place to when he told Fiona about it ( if you choose to) this was before it was revealed she knows about that world. Because without proof it would make him appear crazy other than to people that knows about it.

I disagree. In Kajia's case, these are stories from ancient times that her grandfather told her, adding his own personal interpretation. Kajia did not experience those events. She did not have to process them. For Alex, it's completely different. We could say that it's a bit like when we hate certain aspects of our parents as children and swear that we won't do the same things when we grow up. Then 20 or 30 years go by and we end up behaving just like them. But that's not the case with Alex either. His anger is very recent. His anger is still alive and pulsating. It's absurd that he's doing the same thing he's criticizing his family for to Elea just a few weeks later.

I was not comparing their situation, both face the results from someone else poor decisions or behavior, and that is all what their situation has in common.

Okay, fine. That's acceptable. The fact remains that these inconsistencies really bother me in a story.

You have a point there, but I would still say that he just might not pay enough attention to his own actions and behavior there. You're not the MC and you noticed it, he just doesn't.

Again, a more mature and sensible approach would be to understand their motivations and forgive. You chose to take the less mature, more hot-headed path, prone to hypocrisy and contradictory behavior.

And as I said, on the "understanding" path he probably justifies being vague with the same reasons his parents were with him and Jess. And on the "unforgiving" path he's just too high and mighty, the stick up his ass is too rigid for him to bend and see the reason behind their parents "wrongdoings", nor the mirror to see similarities with his own actions now.

I played both. Always on Elea's path. In the last update, I followed the “unforgiving” path. With this update, I started from the beginning and followed the “understanding” path. Nothing has changed. Obviously (it would be like having to write two different games). That doesn't change the fact that, since Fiona knows everything and is just a friend in my path, the treatment Elea receives bothers me a lot.

Does he know there if Linnea has told Elea about Neverwhere and Templars? Otherwise he just might try to keep a secret that isn't his to tell.
Just imagine revealing "the whole shabang" to Elea and screw up their mother-daughter relationship
