I know that you love Ceolag and the game a lot and what I have said (even with some typos) have hurt you too a bit. But it was not meant to hurt anyone, only to help the author...
Even if english is not my main language and I may sound a bit twisted for an englishman or an american, I know a few things about storytelling and your scorn or even block wont scare me to see the plot holes and tell the author about them.
Even better, I have a 20yo boy and my job now is to manage 25-30 yo girls and boys like the MC. So, I know very well how they are at that age. In this generation they ar still boys and girls at those ages.
Even worst, I have burned university bridges at 21yo, saying I will survive from writting. But no matter how stupid or naive I was at that age, I would have not run away from my parents house knowing that I am hunted by professional killers or spent 3 weeks at a punny job, while knowing that I have powers, that I have magical swords and that I fucked mighty old alfars. And, for sure, I wouldnt have been that full of rage and hate. That level of stupidy is not logical at all in such a good story, even if some peoples are capable of such things!
My parents where poor and I used to have one pair of shoes for an entire year, with a hole in each of them, still I have not complained or blamed them. Instead, I started working at 18 yo as a journalist and I made a strong career in time from there. Not crying, not hating! Fighting!
But maybe I am wrong. I havent played many AVNs (maybe 20), so I didnt got used with the college kid superhero fantasy (with horse dick, as a distinguished lady said here - no pun against her). Maybe you guys got used so much to pretend to be super-fucker-youngsters in AVNs that you dont see nothing wrong with this pussycry with god powers.

But your writing style makes me question your age, experience, and with that... everything else you say. I'm not trying to imply anything here, just my two cents. And you (kids) get so carried by this ”role”, that you forget that you scare the moderate audience and even stomp the ”love gang”. There is a thin line between mocking someone and humiliating him/her. That is why you stopped only when the nice Joshy snapped here or Ceolag made a stand. Even then you continued to ”fuck”, ”hate” and ”rage”. As a play or not, who the hell had patience to read your true colors, apart from stalky me or Xapi? Point is your ”fuck/hate” play was more important than the game and his audience. Which made Ceolag to loose faith in you and ignore you. The Chapter 5 leak was just the last knive into his heart.
That is why you dont have progress report here anymore. That is why almost no one new doesnt dare to post anything here. Hate stomping was fun three years ago, until Defenestrator left the building. I must make a little introduction, to set things right, for what I have to say after that...
This is my first post here, I am new to this Forum, this is the only thread that I watched, but I have read all that was posted here. All 605 pages!!!
I have played the game only once, on Steam, in july, doing a kinda Kaija lovely path, combined with Fiona romance+sex and side girls cheating. So, I still have to do those single path runs. But, I know everything what is happening in the game, from here and your... wars.
I am 51yo divorced straight male with no prejudices against LGBT, but fully aware of what geopolitical interests are behind the woke movement. I have bought the game on Steam, I have a Mercenary subscription on Patreon, which should tell you that I like the game quite a lot and that I dont talk like an ungratefull brat, who got the game for free. Also, I am not biased to any girl in this game, I like them all, be it their ”feminine” side, or their ”human” side. And I admire Ceolag for his... ambition, dedication, seriosity, profesionalism, creativity, imagination, talent! So, anything that I will say is out of love and with the only intention to help.
Still, there are few truths (my personal truths, ofc, Mav) that must be said (again) so that the ”dev” may be able to learn from his (beginner) mistakes. And I feel that these must be said now, before Chapter 7 is finished...

Welcome! A truly good post, though I disagree with many things. MC has lived a life in a gilded cage and has been spoiled since birth. His father arranged everything he has: his job and promotion are gifts. His girlfriend was actually arranged as his guardian. MC has never been in danger in his life, never had to face difficulties to achieve things. Everything is given to him, and he only discovered it as an adult, so he is spoiled, immature, yes, and is having to grow up quickly now. But don't diminish the trauma he went through: in previous posts, I compared his situation to that of adults who discover they are adopted children. It's the closest real-life example I can find, and it's traumatic because it relies on the entire family conspiring to sell a story of family life that isn't true. It's truly intense. I agree that MC isn't smart and that he has average intelligence and perception, because anyone would realize his job is a Templar plot, rather than returning there immediately after his adventures. And you'd also realize that his parents are still lying and hiding things in that conversation at their house, because MC never stopped to consider his innate abilities, the logic or lack of logic behind their motivations for hiding the truth from him and placing him under surveillance, or the third installment's move to lure his father to Neverwhere, only to be kidnapped and throw the Templars off guard while the mercenaries capture him to exploit his abilities. But one thing we should keep in mind: the time spent in the game is about a month. Things are very recent there, and MC hasn't had time to organize his thoughts and mature so quickly. I consider CEOLAG's characterization to be the strong point of this AVN. The world itself is copied from other sources, and copied literally: Neverwhere is Nightside, from the book series of the same name, and all the elves are basically taken from The Dresden Files, as well as the archetypes of his father, mother, and swords. It's all there. The novelty is the characterizations that tell something new, as the entire world has existed for more than 20 years.

another advice I have for you on this site. Nobody likes walls of texts. Most tune them out. Try to convey your message in a shorter form. I personally don't have the patience to read through a novel like that. Some may do of course. But I guarantee the majority won't.

I understand what all you guys keep saying by 3 years now. ”poor kid, was spoiled and now had a shock, evil family, they forced him to wake up!” But, I have said from the start, the MC is not at fault here, he is just a story tool, he is how it is delivered to us.
Yes, the characterizations are good. Just that the MC doesnt has one. His rage quits and whinny ccomplains doest count. Nor his ”sex conquests”. He is just like a chess piece, Ceolag moves him from there to there, whithout the MC reasoning a bit. I want an inquiring MC, not a weak emo kid, expecting to get a push or a call to move to a direction or another.
You guys keep explaining the MC, trying to fit the story and the world to him, to his limited mind. Get your heads from the game a bit and look at the bigger picture. You have seen and read a lot of stories, you can understand how things work in the making.
What is Ceolag trying to do? A ”becoming a hero” story or ”lets show you my new safari”?
If he wants to tell us the ”hero” story, where is the becoming part? Because, after all those events, you cant keep him at the same mental level for half of the book and show us the new hero in the last 2 chapters. Well, you can, but how many will have faith in you to follow your next book? Do you realize that in 6 chapters he will die or marry or hide in the office? So, when will he become a true hero? In chapter 12, when he wil flourish like Fin and will die like her? And in the meantime, he wil be just an excuse to follow the LIs stories? And to fuck them?
Well, if this is just a ”safari”, like as a teasing for the futture books, then we can excuse the stupid driver that Ceolag had given us. We can even call it a cameo.
My opinion/rant/trolling is not about MC motives, is about his ”adequacy” in this epic story. Don Quixote is fun in his naivity (lets be nice), but you dont take him to save the world...
Ceolag cant remove the MC, ofc, but he can grow him up fast(er). At mind level, not at muscle level (he wasted three weeks even there).

Welcome to the page and the game. I'm a fan boy of Ceo's work. TNT is one of the few games I'm active in because I just don't have the time to hang out on a lot of games anymore. I enjoyed reading your posts. I disagree with you on one issue.

There is no rule that says the MC has to behave like a mature middle aged man. Young men do foolish things based off emotion. He is a sheltered older child living in a protected bubble from the world he never knew was there. Now it isn't. His whole world is turned upside down. Sometimes he wants to hide from the world, some times he wants to lash out, sometimes he goes off and does stupid things because he is young and was sheltered and coming to grips with the whole world around him being a lie. I find it hard to comprehend how I would react to such a thing and I have been through some pretty devastating events in life. I don't have an issue with how Ceo is writing the MC because for me, this is how this young man is trying to deal with this situation he finds himself in. The only decision I thought should be changed was the decision to cut off the parents permanently. The MC is young he would have been open to talking to them again at some stage. Maybe Ceo will change that down the road, maybe not. Plus decisions like cutting off his parents are the players choice, so players have to take some responsibility on how the MC acts as well.

Hey GOA ! yes, that was exactly what I wanted to reply, to take in consideration, that it is the player, who has the control over his behavior.
And here is where I see that writing the MC is much more challenging than writing Kaija or any other character, he has to be dynamic and interactive, having only a limited spectrum (due to vast differences in how the players aproach the same situations) to put into the palette of choices.
and this can lead to distorted perceptions of the MC percieved maturity.
