Until now the MC and his sister have been safe living a normal life, which is what any parents want for their kids.
The option to turn your children into child soldiers is way worse than the "lie" they have been living.
Now a third party is trying to stir things up with templars and our MC landed on shit but that's not on his parents.
Many paths many interpretations, and also depens on your personal "crystal" to view things, I gave up to discuss this kind of Interpretations based upon what we learnd during the Chapters, it doesn't change how you get to the end only with whom and how.

I'm not that interested in becoming a full templar but the parents and Katja get too much hate imo.

Same, im not really interested in joining any faction either but i agree.

The mc's immaturity and self-centered behavior justifies a lot for me too, i wouldnt have told this guy everything about all this shit when he barely is a full adult either.

I don't buy that for a second. Informed decisions are good decisions. This is the same logic that has parents ruin childs lives in the name of protecting them.

I call utter bullshit, and you're never going to convince me otherwise.

I will never, ever like being kept in the dark 'for my protection'.

I never asked for it. If I want to risk my life in some fashion once I'm an adult, that is MY DECISION. NOT. YOURS.

He is not even trying to do, as I said you can play the VN at your leisure, and if you coment be aware that there will be people who strongly disagree and even have a diametral different view of this.
to get a bit filosophic " the truth is the mother of all lies"
And I was letting him know that being a parent apologist doesn't fly with me. Simple enough.

I just learned about this game and I just wanted to join this thread to say I very much appreciated being able to burn bridges with the parents. I DESPISE parents who do that, especially when their apologies aren't genuine like theirs. He had fucking mercenaries come after him with no real context for why they would care, and there was NOTHING about trying to make amends.

I hate that so. GODDAMN. MUCH.
My family hid things from me for my " emotional well being". When I found out, it didn't go so well for my "emotional well being" and destroyed my relationship with all of them. It was never the same again. Trust was broken. If they would have been honest from the start, things would have been different. Even if I had gotten angry with them for a bit, I would have still trusted them and wanted them in my life.

I have seen a few cases with relatives and friends who have kept a child in the dark about their parentage. None of those cases ended well. One of our daughters we took in at 5 weeks old. We never held back the truth about her parentage from her on the rare occasion it was brought up. We have always been mum and dad to her, now she is 20 and I am her most favorite person in the world as she tells me repeatedly. Being honest from the outset is the better path.

In the story, the mother shows little remorse at all. At least the father shows remorse. I'd leave the door open for the father. The mother I would cut off at this point. I wouldn't be able to trust her.

Right. As far as I'm concerned with the Templars now, it's only a matter of preventing more bloodshed. They've both proven they'll put their own fears ahead of what's good for their children.

Want to talk MC having input in his life?

1. His girlfriend was arranged marriage type (except he doesn't know it)
2. His job is Templar arranged
3. He wasn't told about Templars

Now, while I personally see no problem with #3, I understand not liking it.

But I very strongly disagree with some calling MC self-entitled when his whole life is basically set by his parents and EVERYTHING is one big lie because they want total control.
Every aspect of his life: girlfriend, job, parents, none of it was true.

He is a fucking saint compared to amount of vitriol I'd be spewing if it was my life.

It's also why I keep parroting MC, once shit is done, should pack up and leave. Far, far, far away from everything, and start a new life, one where he gets to make his own, good or bad, decisions.

Honestly, when I realized the full scope of their control over his life after he left the home, it quickly became clear it was never about them, it was about self-indulgant fantasies on their part that I wanted nothing to do with.

And ? he just has another take, and it is ok that it doesn't fly with you it is your point of view, you would be shocked, knowing that ablut 89 % of the parents lie to their children, for the sake of their protecction, and the Mothers are the worst.
What GOA described is not a single and rare case it is more a common topic.
depends on each one how he copes with it, In GOA s case it even brought something good for him and his daughter, although painfull and really heartbreaking.
Sure. That doesn't mean they're right to do so. I will die on that hill.

I've said it before but I hope CEO wanted for people to really, deeply despise the Templars ... cause if that wasn't his goal, he went overboard. I mean, Adanu doesn't even mention Finn. I pretty much get where he was coming from before, but Finn was a bridge too far. (And before anyone says it, I know - we don't have proof, we're not 100% positive yet etc. etc. but I think the Templars did it ... or at least that Templars did it, I doubt it got a vote in council.)

Agreed. To get side tracked - From what Fiona has said she experienced similar. She did pack up and leave. She moved far far away from her family and started a new life where she gets to make her own decisions. I am starting to see her in a far more interesting light as an LI for my MC.

I agree - at this point Fiona is the only Li I'm still interested in really - Finn was #1 but ... yeah.

I liked Finn towards the end, but I don't see the attraction that many other seem to have. All she wanted to do was stab my MC. She was a bit too volatile for me.
My MC would forget to take out the garbage - stab!
Sorry dear, I forgot our anniversary - stab!
Yes dear you do look fat in that dress - stab!
Oh did I forget to put down the toilet seat - stab!
I'd always be worried we would have a fight and she would stab me to death in my sleep. Trust is big for me and I don't think I could trust her not to stab me.
