You're not wrong.To be fair to Kaiji, it's probably hard to protect someone when your Templar superiors are constantly ordering you to leave the person you're supposed to be protecting.
But even if you go with her to neverwhere, where her only order was to protect your ass, she manages to rush in a fight, with some parting words like ''go back alone''

It does leave open the possibility that someone in the Templars sent her away specifically to leave MC exposed. But that’s why operatives only have one mission at a time - so you don’t run into situations where you have to disobey orders so that you can obey your original orders.
* I still think her orders weren’t just to protect you but to prevent you from getting involved in fights/ shedding blood because she momentarily freaks out when you shoot mercenary dude and it’s shortly after that when MC starts displaying magical abilities.

Not telling him was the dumbest thing because as the son of the Grand Master he has a target on his back whether you tell him about it or not.

Yeah ... "He'll be safer if we don't tell him he's in constant danger, tell him what to watch out for or give him any kind of training." WTF kind of logic is that? "Let the children enjoy their childhood, they'll be safer if we don't tell them that they're playing in a minefield."

I can understand not telling the kids when they were like 4 years old. It really wouldn't affect their safety at that age whether they know or not. But I definitely agree MC's parents should have clued them in when they were old enough to handle it and actually be safer from the knowledge.
Personally, my MC is potentially willing to eventually forgive their dumb decision. People make mistakes with good intentions, so he's not yet ready to burn that bridge. But that definitely seems to be an opinion where we differ.

Yeah, that bridge is burnt in every one of my saves. Ceo says we'll have a second chance to repair things so I've got a can of gasoline and some matches ready. Definitely. Also Kajia - if you don’t follow your love path, and ask if she ever loved you she says something like “there was something there, but I wouldn’t call it love”. Ceo says this is in keeping with her personality. So she’s been fucking you for … years? however long because it was part of a mission. If all of that is true, how confident are you that MC is the only one she fucked as part of a mission during that time? I’m sure it will never be directly addressed, but she does talk about hanging around brothels in the seedier parts of Neverwhere “gathering information”. I can’t say for sure that she cheated but given everything else she was dishonest about, I wouldn’t rule it out either. It’s one of the problems with being deceitful and untrustworthy … people then can’t trust you.

Obviously people are free to feel differently, but motive and intent matters a lot to me. I'm much more likely to allow potential atonement and reconciliation if the motive behind a breach of trust was benevolent rather than malicious, even if the immediate result was the same. And at the core level, wanting to protect your children and give them a better life is benevolent, even if the way they tried to do it was dumb.

Selfishly, cultivating and practicing forgiveness is also associated with better mental and physical health. So even from a self-interested perspective, I'll usually give forgiveness an attempt. Keep in mind that forgiveness and reconciliation are not the same thing. Forgiveness is an internal process where you free yourself of the anger or resentment. Reconciliation is related, but different, and it's entirely possible to forgive someone but have no interest in reconciling with them.

Absolutely, I'm fully capable of saying "I bear you no malice or ill will, I'm not out for revenge but our relationship has run its course and we probably won't see each other again." I have done it several times (IRL).
Edit: At least that's where I was at before someone killed Finn.

Yeah, my MC has mostly forgiven his parents and Kaiji for the deception and started the process of reconciliation with them.
It's... definitely going to be way more challenging for him to forgive Finn's killer (or whoever orchestrated it, if it was arranged).
Even if he lets go of the anger and doesn't seek revenge, he'd probably want at least justice.Edit: There's still a lot of unknowns about Finn. I'm looking forward to learning more details so I can better decide how my MC should respond.
