Is she even real in-game?
She wasnt being real with the MC.
depends on your point of view. my path for Kaija I believe and trust her the only thing I do question is her loyalty to the templars but I think that will change in favor of the MC on that path so I dont think i got to worry.

I do like your optimism Dessolos. I think she will choose the MC on the Love path eventually.

Setting Kajia aside - the weird thing to me is that we're not supposed to hate the Templars. According to Ceo's Q&A thing anyway MC remains neutral toward the Templars and when someone asked him about a redemption arc for the Tempars he said they don't need one - that they're not good or bad and didn't need redemption.

She is a fanatic zealot, not different from the members of Taliban or Al Qaeda. They are brainwashed in their childhood and put duty above all, above their own lives and won't regret killing, lying, deceiving for it. Kaija is a fanatic that only do what the council orders and don't give a second thought even for her own well being and never for MC. She would have killed him if another had taken the order and commanded her to do so. There is nothing on her that is redeemable. She is basicaly a drone, not a human anymore.

Ceo must take in account that fans and supporters (I bought the game and I will subscribe his patreon) wish for a more aggressive route against Templars. It may be influence of all my youth playing Assassin's Creed games, or even by members of some "secret societies" that I know personally and brag they are the legacy of those templas, but they are repulsive to me even as a concept and I would like to have an opportunity of following the steps of Clement V in this game. Something akin to Green Lantern's Emerald Twillight if possible.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but she was a bad girlfriend even when she was pretending to be that. She's been lying to you for your entire relationship - even when you were "childhood friends" and she's still hiding things and lying to you. (For example, she wasn't there as a bodyguard - she wasn't home enough to be that.) So given all of that I would absolutely never trust her and don't care about her enough that - if someone was going to "wipe out all the templars" that I'd try to spare her. As far as I'm concerned everything that Kajia was to MC was a lie, and any interaction they have now is also a lie.

She was a childhood friend while under training. Protecting MC on her free time was a side mission to her. She would kill MC' LI's if commanded to do so. She will never regret doing her job until the end and expects that MC not only understands, but become an adept and follow her steps now that all is disclosed.

But that single render of her crying in the bathroom changes everything! :KEK:

It's concept art, right? I'm playing chapter 5 right now and I didn't see it. But as it be, she may even question her values or only regret the outcomes. It doesn't change the fact she was up to go a long way to serve the order and the life and well being of anyone would have any impact on her decisions. She didn't even had decisions, only orders decided by others. It may even be the so called redemption as she is unable to do anything out of her own will.

The game has one of the hardest changes to her backstory if you keep her LP's low.

Yes, but LP starts low by default. She can fall in love with MC after some decisions, but it's low from default which means their shared childhood, their early years were only a job.

I was always frustrated that you can’t ask - that you can’t tell her that she has to choose between you and the Templars and it can’t be both, even a little - 100% break with one or the other.

This game is unique by revising the past very heavily with implicit choices made now. It is both a blessing and a curse.
Try playing max LP route, it is vastly different from the ice witch Kaija route.
