Those are the developer's words:

By the ending of april the coding and rendering will be done. I don't know how long Beta testing will take. Maybe we can estimate it from the last releases.
I'm very keen for it too. Hang in there. Ceo will get it done when he can. VNs are an incredible amount of work. Add in life's unexpected events and things get delayed. I'd rather wait a little longer than have any content cut.

For Chapter 3, Ceolag announced that only ~25-30 renders and several animations remained to be completed on June 2, 2023. He announced the start of Beta on June 9, and the chapter was released on June 20, 11 days later.

For Chapter 4, Ceolag announced coding was nearly done and only ~100 renders and 1 animation remained on November 17, 2023. He announced the start of Beta on November 23, and the chapter was released on December 7, roughly 2 weeks later.

For Chapter 5, Ceolag announced he was finished with renders and coding (and only 1 animation outstanding) on July 12, 2024. He announced the start Beta testing on July 19, and the update was released (on schedule) on July 27. So approximately 1 week for the Beta this time.

I'd say it seems to take a week or so to finalize a build, then another 1-2 weeks to wrap up the beta and release.

Since I can't nerd out on the new numbers until someone posts the latest dev update... I guess I'll go ahead and post the this week's update.

Now then... Yay New numbers! So, first things first: by my math, Ceolag is shortchanging himself a static render! He reported 2240 last week and 2301 this week, a difference of 61. A minor change in the grand scheme of things, but he might as well include it. :p At any rate, his overall averages are now roughly 66 static renders, 2.8 animations and 188 lines per week since work on chapter 6 officially began. Here are the charts:

We're definitely getting closer to the end, though it sounds like there's several weeks of work before we're in the final polish and testing phase. I still think mid/late May to early June is the likely timeframe for release. We'll see if the schedule changes as we get closer.

As for Elea, going clubbing with her certainly makes sense, but I really hope we get some big plot advancements with her, too. Her good looks and adorkable personality are endearing, but she can't skate by on them forever. She needs a stronger connection to the main story and/or the secret world the MC has been drawn into, and the sooner the better. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Dev Update - 2025/04/11
New
Hey everyone,
This week, I started work on the last scene before the chapter finale.
It will be a pretty long scene, so I expect it to take me at least next week and the one after that to move on to the chapter finale.
At least, the chapter finale isn't planned to be as complicated as the one of Chapter 5 or 3 with the cinematics at the end.
So work on that should go faster than the work on the previous chapter finale.
I spent quite a bit of time this week setting up the environment for my current scene, as it contains more than 10 characters, a background crowd, and some kitbashing to achieve the desired look of the scenery.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the result, but it's a pain to render. :-D
The goal for next week is simply to get as much work on the current scene done as possible before Easter takes its toll on productivity...
The numbers for this week:
60 new static renders for a total of 2301
1 new animation for a total of 97
167 new lines in the script file for a total of 6579

Have a nice weekend, guys.

Cheers,
Ceolag

This update was a cold shower on my expectations of seeing the release this month. That final scene alone will likely take two weeks to complete, and then there’s beta testing, which should last a week to ten days. That means it won’t be until May, nearly a year after the last release. And it’s going to be chapter six out of ten or twelve, which implies we’re looking at five years or more to see the conclusion.

You can count to 12, congratulations and each number is 1 year => 5 * 1 = 5, you solved the equation congratulations!
Find a girl, get married, make some kids and come back in the year 2030 and enjoy the game!

So the fight decision in Chapter 5 and its consequences make no sense to me:

No, you're reading it wrong. MC is an enemy of the Alfair automatically - he's their enemy when he shows up (Alfair and Templars hate each other). If you spare Finnabair it makes her think you might not be an enemy after all but you're an enemy by default.

Correct. Mc shows up in a banner of peace and neutrality. Alfair consider him an enemy and doubt his claim. If you kill her you confirm their stance on you but if you don't you make them doubt their own stance on you.

and they automatically assume you're a templar because of your family, so why would they welcome you after that. But if you spare her, you have a chance to explain how that is incorrect

There's also the whole "life debt" thing just like with Medb - by sparing Finn in a duel to the death, she now owes you a life debt so it would be completely against all of their culture for Medb to kill MC at that point because she's Finn's mom.

But then the talk of tradition makes no sense when they say tradition trumps all. He was challenged to a duel and Medb could have stopped it but didn't. He was taking a huge gamble with letting her live. The dad was the only sane person there. I think the conversation should have been worded better then because it still reads as hypocritical. Especially since as in the other path of sparing and otherwise as well, they say she would have killed Alex.

It's all politics.

Of course, now it all makes sense lol. Political hypocrisy.
