I was thinking about this and I know it's very unlikely we will see it. But I would love to see a flashback of Fin's death and hopefully seeing her taking out alot of the enemies whoever they are.

Why would you want to kill templars, your parents are one
Maybe they are not. Ceolag was influenced mainly by three sources: Dresden Files, Nightside and Love of Magic. In all those three, the main character is above the humanity in general and have a secret origin. Mild in the first two, and extreme in the last (in LOM he is a god able to defeat Thor and take his hammer and remove the restriction that prevented others from taking it).

Reminder that she, a 200 something year old elf with more hours of training than a human has of actual life, lost 1v1 against a random dude holding a sword for the first time in his life...

I don't think she could take out a toddler with a pacifier.

EDIT: Honestly I think it's more likely that she got taken out by a gust of wind that made her trip and fall on her head rather than her going out in a blaze of glory fighting multiple foes.

Maybe that's part of my issue. I didn't like either the Dresden Files or Nightside. I mean, I don't think that influences whether or not I want to kill Templars but I didn't enjoy (what I read of) either of those series at all. I never read Love of Magic, I don't think.

Albeit a (possibly) human with still undefined magical abilities holding a powerful, magical sword that both the Templars and the Elves covet and that even Nimue was pretty happy to see.

Dude's basically an anime protagonist, picked up a random OP as fuck sword and likely instinctively knew swordsmanship from the sword itself.

tl;dr, she could've been a literal deity and he still would've been able to win due to plot reasons and the fact that he's likely just far above anything human and we're just starting to find that out.

I forget the first combat with her but the second his sword powers activated. Yeah she isn't the best but I don't think she is a bad fighter either just cause she lost to the MC. I think you are reading to much into her fights with the MC imo. Losing to the MC doesn't mean she wouldn't be able to handle her own in a fight with others besides not like she was alone either.

But it throws a lot of light on the way Ceolag could deal with the plot. There are thing he simply copiei and past from those references. The first tour on Neverwhere, for instance: the entire explanation given by Kaija while touring with MC is copied word by word from Nightside. MC''s father, that irish pub, the elf rulers and Madb and the swords, are taken from Dresden files. The possible portal below the pub, the maid of the lake (Ceolag asked for permission to use LOM own model), etc are all taken from Love of Magic (It' a séries of VNs and not books).

Completely agree. I was obviously hyperbolizing. Finn is a competent fighter, no doubt, but I don't think we should overestimate her abilities either. She was young, brash and obviously lacking in emotional composure. But my point was that whatever "training" the MC received as a child from his father plus a magical sword should still fall short to literally a hundred years of fighting training and experience.

Hey everyone,

Welcome to the last Dev Update for Chapter 6.
This week was rather busy with stuff unrelated to the game, like a national holiday and a 2-day business trip.
My goal was to finish the work for the last scene before the chapter finale before the business trip and then to see how far I could get after coming back.
I finished that scene on time and also managed to code everything for the chapter finale.
So, overall, even a bit more progress than expected.

That's also the reason why this Dev Update will be the last for Chapter 6. The next Update from my side will be the announcement of the Beta state.
That doesn't necessarily mean it will be next Friday.
The chapter finale isn't too long this time but there's a planned set of animations that will be either easy to do within a few hours (if my idea works out) or it will take several days (if it doesn't and I need to find a new approach).

One more thing regarding the chapter ending:
Those who have been here for a while might remember a Dev Update early into Chapter 6 development where I said I moved the planned cliffhanger to Chapter 7.
I kept thinking about it through the development of Chapter 6 and decided to move it back into Chapter 6.
The reason is that the whole Chapter ending felt incomplete without it.
On the other hand, the reason why I "cut" it was still valid. I didn't want that kind of cliffhanger to be there for months (to give you some context: I don't consider the CH5 ending a cliffhanger...)
I came up with the solution of adding a few renders and some dialogue planned for Chapter 7 into the ending of Chapter 6.
It's not a lot of work (the scripting for it is already done) but it will answer the most urgent question and not leave it lingering for the next several months.

There won't be any preview renders for this week as they'll be all too "spoiler-y".

The numbers for this week:
78 new static renders for a total of 2612
6 new animations for a total of 109
318 new lines in the script file for a total of 7486

Have a nice weekend, guys.

Cheers,
Ceo

I think May is going to be a very good month for AVN's I enjoy as TNT and a number of other AVNs are all getting updates this month!

I also like the idea that we will get a little bit of information past the cliff-hanger resolving the most urgent question (and I am intrigued about Which question this is...).

Cheers!! :coffee:

Sounds like these will be our last numbers for a while. Overall, Ceolag is currently averaging around 69 static renders, 2.9 animations, and 197 lines per week since work on Chapter 6 began. Here are the charts:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Fairly constant progress through the last few weeks, so now it really comes down to how much work is left. Normally it takes about a week to finish things off and start the beta process, but it sounds like it could run a little longer this time depending on how hard those animations are to pull off. Add another 1-2 weeks for testing and I'd say we're looking at a late May release most likely, with a mid-May release possible if everything breaks right.

In the meantime I am a little nervous about the return of the cliffhanger. We still know so little about the world that it's going to be hard to parse a truly dramatic event, and I get the impression Chapter 6 is going to focus more on the LIs than it will on the world. Hopefully the added information will help with that, but we'll have to see how it plays out. It shouldn't be too much longer now. (fingers crossed)

Well, it's time for (betting) theories, I'm betting nothing on the fact that Finn killed Kaya...

PS Ceo clearly needs to talk to Caribidis about how to use cliffhangers and warm up the audience

IIRC, he didn't win because of any training he received. He won because he was wielding a legendary, semi-sentient sword that can guide/control the movement of his body and slow time/accelerate him. If you chose to kill Finn he has to physically struggle against the sword's will to do so.
