story in this update is really turning a turn to the worse, the war starts, you are one of the people who most tried to prevent it, and instead of fighting to stop it you take a 3 week break.....WHAT.
Ze sister goes crazy stupid just to go clubbing, but somehow we going to a dangerous place to stop a war is anyway equivalent, "no judgement" my ass. on top of all this give her hidden magic powers because why not.
i review this update as 7/10 facepalms

So... when is Finnabair coming back?
She only got a little wound, just a simple sword through the heart, a couple of plasters and she'll be fine.

Other than that fleshwound she's just a little bit dead as fuck.

Seems you didn't read a few bits in the story so your post gets 1 kitty facepalm.

I love how the game shows the middle finger to those who play a narrow-minded MC, whose resentment towards his family and Kaija clouds his judgements and he, on the one hand, sticks with the Elves to stop the war, and on the other hand, ignores the opportunity to receive information directly from the headquarters of the other party, and demonstratively refuses to communicate with the Templars and his parents.
That's the best part though! Narrow minded? The Templars and Elves are literally two drooling retards fighting each other over rocks, sticks and dirt as they chew on crayons. The problem is that their dumb squabbles may end up hurting humanity in the real world.

I'm playing from the perspective of someone who wants to burn down both sides. Who wants nothing to do with Neverwhere. All I want is prevent any threat to the human people. I have no desire to engage with either faction beyond that. And the game has been allowing me to do that. That's awesome!

I don't give a shit about Fiona's family because my MC doesn't even know her. He saw her once while running. Helena and Elea are just coworkers he barely interacts with. Ties with Kaija and parents are cut permanently and it shows on my playthrough. The only issue was my hatred for Finn was not reflected AT ALL. Which is weird.
You might as well ask RNasc's review, he'll tell you his fucking amazing stories that you won't even want to play any game here. :KEK:

The MC is also a magicky mutant freak.
How so? Yes he seems highly perceptive/intuitive but that's hardly a superpower. Whatever "powers" the MC displays seem to be bestowed upon him by the sword. Without it he seems normal. As evidenced by the skirmish at the end of the update. If he had the sword with him or was wielding it he probably would have dispatched all 3 thugs in the blink of an eye.

But maybe I'm misreading the whole thing.

Spotting an invisible demon is beyond "highly perceptive" when multiple others claim it's impossible to do without a very high aptitude for magic. Also he resists that succubus attack which shocks everyone who finds out because that is apparently completely impossible for a regular human. Both happened before he even touched the sword. There's more to the MC, magically speaking, than just his bond with the sword.

Well, fair point I guess. No harm done though, I've never liked the bug eyed dude. Jess on the other hand hurts :(

Good morning to you too, Agent Hellspawn! You can't escape the Neverwhere, because the Neverwhere is you! You are the greatest threat to humanity not the Elves or Templars. :devilish: You and your silly, fireball-throwing sister!

OK, finally done with all 12 saves after waiting for Steam/Mercenary release.
Too lazy to check last 12 pages of discussion so here's my opinion.

Starting with saying it's yet another amazing chapter, so gratz to Ceolag for keeping incredible quality story rolling.
I'll keep everything under spoiler tags for now, it's still fresh.

VERY minor complaint (more of a suggestion for future game or some such) -

P.S.
Fucking THANK YOU Ceolag for having "catch-up" mechanic in this game. As in, if your score is less than X, but choose option A, you get +3 instead of +1 or such.
There were so, so, soooooo many VNs where I didn't like certain LI at first, but came to like them later, and game is just "nah buddy, all or nothing".
Seeing that mechanic at play in this chapter was brilliant. Must be a bitch to code with it in mind, but I am genuinely grateful that it exists.

He was immune to the Succubus and saw the stealth Demon before he got the sword.

He has powers, he lacks training.

Not seeing how that's a retcon, it's been mentioned before that she had feelings for the MC since they were younger.

what is it i missed?
The sister was setup. When the guys try to grab her one of them says she was supposed to be alone. That on top of her missing 2 days of memory says something happened to her, likely mind control or some sort of mind fuckery, likely the same thing happened to the Templar that stabbed Finn

As for the war, there is nothing he can do to stop it. Neither side is going to listen to him, he's one guy and both sides have had this festering for centuries.

The only thing they can do is find out who the third party is that is manipulating things behind the scenes but that's going to take time. That along with Hellspawn reappearing is going to slow down any information gathering.

All that's left is to gather information, find out who's pulling the strings and hope his parents and Mebd will listen to him. Considering Finn was Mebds daughter it's going to take a lot of proof to get her on side.

While Mebd does seem to like the MC, you do have to remember most Elves still want him dead because of his ties to the Templars and he isn't a Templar himself so he has no say in their business.

It's not like he can pop in and say "hey, stop fighting" and they all go "okay, lets have a cup of tea and some scones instead".

He's waiting for Kaija to find a way to speak to Sayo and get some info from the patrols before they can even start investigating.

That and he has an outing with Nightingale that might get him some more information.

Both the Templars and Elves hate each other so it's not going to be a quick and easy job stopping the war.

I agree, if anything it explains the dissonance between the three Kaijas. Now Kaija is always the same only that:
In one version she sees no possibility of saving their relationship so she chooses to leave with a bang.
In the other she sees a chance to remain friends.
And finally against all her expectations there is the version where MC tries to stay with her

I just checked on my romance route and she admits quite early she fell for him early in their friendship.
Conversation in Act 6 is identical for friend (11 points in my case) and romance.
You can easily start act 1 with 0 points and get to 11 before act 6. That's a "no romantic feelings" path early on.

Kind of matches with my 2nd complaint (if it can be called complaint).
In either case, I don't see it as big problem (that's why I called it very, very minor nitpick), but definitely wasn't fan of reading those lines.
