The dev didnt really answer the question on the sword. He was more or less explaining characters name origin etc
I was talking about if he follows strictly the Myths and Legends, and from where he took inspiration.
You're right, he never answered about the Swords, he just said that Hildas blade is a legendary Japanese blade as well.

New to this game. Anyone else thinking Fiona is a Svartalfar? And they are the ones pulling the strings in the conflict?

Oh, I thought about it right away from the first minute Medb mentioned them, but then the developer "answered questions" and I realized that these dark elves will not be in the game. And even if in theory they will be, then what's the point of them muddying the waters, they are brothers with the white elves, but they haven't been seen for a thousand years, what's the point of appearing now. I think the third party is banal, people to whom the representatives of the hellish creatures promised power or immortality, and yes, these will be people, because what can you promise the elves so that they would agree to war with people? Immortality? lol.

Or, as we have come to an agreement here, it is all Fiona's family that is stirring things up.

Hey everyone,

I wrapped up the scene with Linnae this week and moved on to the next scene which "finally" included some animations. Can't say I missed fiddling around with DAZ's timeline crap tool a lot :-D

I got most of the planned animations done and there are 2 more left to do which I'll most likely finish later today or tomorrow.
After that, it's back to static renders and writing. When I'm done with the current scene, I'll probably do another test build at the end of next week.

I kinda promised a few special renders last week. Well... I'm not done yet.
6 are rendered with 2-3 left to render. Each render takes ~10 hours to render on the main pc due to lighting, fog, and steam in it. Rendering in 8k doesn't help either. :-D

I'll attach the first one to the preview renders of this week and post the rest once they're all done.

The numbers for this week:
56 new static renders for a total of 562
6 new animations for a total of... 6
194 new lines in the script file for a total of 2275

Have a nice weekend, guys.

Cheers,
Ceo

Hey guys,

It took me a bit longer to answer the questions because... well, I forgot :-D
Sorry for that. We'll dive right into the answers before I can get distracted again.

Are all the lewds optional in this game? Would they result in less than maximum affection points for an LI, or at least less than a number needed for essential checks?
All lewds are optional. "Rejecting" them doesn't give you negative or fewer points as of now, and I plan to keep that approach.
So skipping a sex scene with a main girl doesn't mean it'll throw you off their path. Not in the mood to watch the lewd scene? Skip it, I won't judge (through game mechanics).

Since Fiona and Kaija have a cabin, does Elea get a cabin?
No cabin for Elea, sorry. It's not a problem, she's blonde, she'll die anyway.

As a developer, how many seasons are being planned for this AVN or any other project you are working on behind the scenes? Also, will you introduce any side stories when the game is finished?
Currently, there are 10-12 chapters planned for Book 1. Book 2 is still a draft, so no information on that yet. Right now, the main focus is to finish Book 1.
Side stories are a possibility, but not planned yet.

What is your thought process on who to kill off in your story? How did you decide that? Is it random, or was it part of a bigger plan all along?
There's always a plan behind such decisions. The death of a character has to serve a purpose. Either through advancing the story, motivating other characters, or as a result of player choices.
Just killing them for the sake of it is pointless.
That doesn't mean it has to be a popular decision, though. If I think it adds to the story/world or is justified through player decisions to kill a character, I'll do so, no matter the popularity (yes, that explicitly includes main girls).
What I won't do is shoe-horn "decisions" where you have to decide who'll die and who'll live.
And when it comes to main girls, there will always be a path to save them.

What inspirations did you find that helped inspire the people, places, things, and lore for your story?
Inspiration comes from everywhere. Books (some are very obvious or even mentioned by me), movies (I already forgot like half of the references that are in the game...), real-life persons, or even personal experience.

Is the Circle the last major group the MC will meet? It seems like there is always another faction around the corner.
Book 1 is called "A New World" for a reason :) It sets the stage for later books, other stories in the same "universe," etc.
There will be another faction around the corner for quite a while. Not all will make an appearance in Book 1, or their appearance might be small now, and their role will be bigger in later books.
For the current MC, it's not the last major group he'll meet. But we're getting to the point where he has met all the groups that are significant for Book 1.

You mentioned the idea of doing mini test builds of your current expansion phase to make things easier for your testers, and it sounds like you work from a more chronological sort of mindset. Can you give us some details on how you plan things out or get your workflow sorted, so we can see how a good process might work?
I usually work strictly chronologically. By that I mean that I work through the Chapter in the order the scenes are playing.
At the start of a development cycle I plan what scenes I want (or need when it comes to main events) to have in the chapter and when.
It can change slightly throughout the development but mostly those changes are pretty minor.
So before I start working on a chapter, I have a "roadmap" set which allows me to set up minor test builds, that are fully playable up to a certain point.
I'm not sure if it's a "good process" but it works for me. It gives me early feedback from the guys who get the minor builds and thus more flexibility to change stuff if it's complete horseshit... or bugged. :)

Bring Finnabair back you heartless monster!
1. Not a question.
2. No Zombie content planned as of now, sorry.

Will there be more lessons in fencing and combat? Will we learn more of the 'basic Templar way' more along the lines of what Linnae and Kaija showed MC, will he learn more of the Ljosalfar way, will there be new influences?
There will be more training scenes and lessons, yes. I'm not sure if I'll go into that kind of detail I did with the first sword session from Linnae. I certainly won't do another animation like that. It took like 3 weeks to do and felt like half the players CTRL skip through it anyway :-D
I loved the challenge and I'm happy with the result but I'm not sure if it was worth the effort.

Will there be pregnancy?
Undecided. If ever, it'll be epilogue stuff (showing a character as being pregnant, not as a kink in general).

Am I supposed to romance all then choose later? Or pick one and stay away from others? Since you said it's not a harem I'm confused.
You're supposed to do as you want and I'm supposed to face you with the consequences of your choices ;-)
As of now (Chapter 6), you can get into a serious relationship with 3 of the 4 LI's and they make clear that they're not going to share. If you still keep going... see above.
That said, the friendship paths will always be open and won't cause conflict.

Will there be new girls to get with?
Not in Book 1. I might introduce new characters (or just tease them) but nobody to "get with". At least that's the plan for now...

My burning question would be wanting to know which episode do you plan on ending the whole story at?
"
The whole story" meaning everything? The over-arching story is the "third party" and its motivations and that's not even planned as that would probably be Book 3 or even 4.
Book 1 and the story (so far) with the current MC will probably end around Chapter 10-12 depending on how big I cut the Chapters.

That's it for now (I think).
Have a nice week, everyone.

Cheers,
Ceo

I the only one who finds it strange to develop the game, the plot, the lore, and then after a while change the MC, continuing the game in the same setting?
I feel like it's like in Mass Effect 3 without Shepard, and in The Witcher 3 without Geralt.
Not really bewcause ME was never meant to be a trilogy, never mind an actual franchised universe. The problem with it becoming what it was, is that ithe franchise should have just died after the third game.

This started as 'connected worlds'...and Book 1, is just one small part of that entire collected, connected worlds.

I don't find it strange at all, different MCs can have different stories letting us see the world from different eyes.

The MC moves to a faraway countryside and becomes goat or duck farmer. or best case scenario Bioshock infinite ending :KEK:
