I don't find it strange at all, different MCs can have different stories letting us see the world from different eyes.

It's just literally the path of Mass Effect and The Witcher, where in the first game they showed us Andromeda and called it Mass Effect, why?! And the second Witcher, where there is no Witcher, but they called it The Witcher, disappointment? Yes.
But if this conditional game will be for an MC elf, dark elf, dwarf, demon from hell, then it is acceptable, but not for another person.
