Having one UI hide (eg phone, map, room specific left hand side options like "Approach") when talking to a girl and another appear (change clothes etc) could be confusing for a first time player if the convention isn't introduced in the tutorial, and currently the tutorial is as interactive as filling in a form for one character who is written to be a small part and an unappealing asshole (so a contrasting impression to the girls, no reason to click on him as the sole character in the scene addressed).Omg the girls are clickable! Why not make this more obvious?!
I think maybe there's a culture clash here where so many players of untranslated games or 90s point and click moonlogic adventures don't see the problem, but you maybe have a point. A minor change to the very start might be enough to help people trying a genre like this for the first time?
