The average Null just puts in the effort to be fit. As Laura observes, Athletic Null makes sure his fitness is functional.
An Academic Null beating Laura on the rankings is completely possible because you as the player put that effort in. It's just you chose the background that didn't make it easier.

Laura is protected by Good Samaritan laws. Neither Rogue nor Null were in position to refuse. Null though -- he was interfering in the consensual exchange between Colossus and Juggernaut. Colossus specifically requested Juggernaut's attention even if he could have been less vague to conform to guidelines.
