I also do wonder about something in the game. The seemingly random love/trust gain fluctuations. For example early in the game, Rogue gains 7 where others gain 5 points of love/trust, however on trying to compliment her in the mall just now, she only gained 6, and now Jean is more regularly gaining 6 points from compliments/studying/training, while Laura is stuck still gaining 5 points a piece which seems to be the baseline.

I do need to wonder what actually causes these fluctuations, since I imagine it may have something to do with changes made in 0.8c, or be related to factors that don't seem to have a solid explanation.

Like the one that just prompted me to made this comment is in the chapter after the mall attack, there's a scene where Rogue thanks the MC for sending X23 to talk to her the first night their friendship started and commenting about how nice it is to see she's so much more than people thought.

At this point the relationship with all the girls is fairly well progressed, plenty of love and trust. There's two normal-ish responses.

Then there's a response that goes something like "Well gee Rogue, who the fuck would have thought that treating her like a human being would be positive?"

Like...damn. WTF did rogue do to deserve a response like that? WTF did anyone in the Academy do? Nobody was abusing X23. She was very aggressive and hostile to people so they avoided her. Fair enough.

While that was the one that prompted me to finally comment, there's been TONS of just douchey, hostile options that are just mean to the girls for no reason and as far as I can tell, exist only to knock a few points of love and trust off the numbers.

They don't even fit for 'Bitter' personality. Most of the 'Bitter' responses tend to still be fundamentally decent enough when they actually have the bitter symbol next to them. These responses aren't 'Bitter'. They're just 'Raging Douchenozzle'.

The point is to have them and to give the player options. Veilguard removed the 'aggressive' options from Dragon Age and I lost all interest in playing that game. I play games to play my PC how I want, not how some milktoast simp tells me I should play my PC.

Must be fluff added then. I didn't take part in the new ambient dialogue as I'm shit at dialogue unless it's longform narrative.

While the archetype options chooses how the world perceives Null, characters will remember if you choose being a dick to them.

I know hate and angry fucking is on the to do list but it's like in the bottom five of priorities.

So will the events of the Hellfire/Dark Pheonix arc occur during the intro of chapter 2 or be stretched out to occur over the chapter or just a season or is it all spoilers? Either way I am looking forward to it and how Jean's death will be handled in gameplay/story either in the majority of chapter 2 or in chapter 3.

The Hellfire Club stuff isn't what kicks off the Phoenix Saga.

I will say that the prologue will be what you expect. Dealing with the aftermath of Chapter 1 and introducing the main characters of Chapter 2.

It's why we provided the symbols. We want y'all to be able to easily customize your Nulls where possible.

I prefer to think of it as being the Scott Summers option, the Banner Option, and the Logan option.
