You're referring to the 'bottom' answers where you can be aggressive or passively rude and stuff, right?

The point is to have them and to give the player options. Veilguard removed the 'aggressive' options from Dragon Age and I lost all interest in playing that game. I play games to play my PC how I want, not how some milktoast simp tells me I should play my PC.
I mean, you can be "aggressive" without being a raging douchenozzle. Without being abusive.

Hell, one of the dirty little secrets 9/10 women will never admit to is how much they LIKE aggressive men.

There's a reason the 'bad boy' archtype is so pervasive in storytelling and successful in real life alike. Depending on how you define 'success', i'll grant you.

At first I thought maybe these responses were there to play into Rogue's kinks for being abused, or to maybe even Shift X23's kink to make her want to be more submissive to a 'dominant alpha male'. The fact that every other incarnation of Jean has a not-so-subtle thing for Wolverine shows that even the good girl wants a bad boy. But none of them ever respond well to these options.

And...as they're currently written and framed...I hardly blame them. lol

Nah, it's actually like the faceless Vixen said: Null is a switch. He reacts differently to each person because he has no personality of his own and uses everything to his advantage—how could it be otherwise? (Because you want to farm love/trust points, or?)
Maybe mutant powers don't work on him because he's a figment of the collective mutant imagination come to life to fix them :illuminati:
Not that it will be any excuse for the IRS.
General reminder that min-maxing is a bad idea in a game that tracks if you're being inconsistent in dialogue choices.

You don't want people to realize that Null is just saying what they want to hear and deciding he's fake and not worthy of friendship/romance. :devilish:

Yep, I recently had a shower thought of what if the characters from Earth-616 reacted to the events of TNH/Earth-69 and Null himself?
At risk of having my family murdered.

I'll just say that you should let us cook. :illuminati:

How to just date Anna and keep Jean and Laura as friends? If MC goes on a date with Jean, Anna gets upset.
If you dont intend to make anybody but Rogue a girlfriend, just refuse to go on dates.

If you do want to keep them all, that requires grinding. You need to arrange group activities. Get them in the same location then "Train together as a group" or "Study together" as a group. Each time the friendship between the girls slightly increases. You can check their character relationship screens. Once they see each other as friends, ask Anna if you can date that girl and she'll be okay with it.

Supposedly the pool exists explicitly to speed this along but they often refuse to go to the pool with me, and even if I get them there they randomly decline the activity so...it's particularly grindy in an already grind-heavy game.

Same with any of them.

It takes WAY too long to do though. I got fed up and used the cheat mod to speed it along lol

probably not totally fair to conflate being a switch to being a weathervane/people pleaser

There's flags on half of the dialogue if you look in the code. Some aren't hooked up to things because general reminder.

The game is still a work in progress.

That's a thing?!
The multiverse is going to be addressed. How the writers express it may differ down the line may be different than what Holder would be doing in the moment.

Being nice to people doesnt equate to being a yes-man.
That's true, but let's be honest. The answers you're given only affect the points. Ultimately, you're just fooling yourself if you're nice to Jean. She is and always will be a nuke :p
