I'd personally rather have all the little things as you call them be done first before moving forward with the story and adding more Love Interests than trying to add in these things later in the game's dev cycle and be stuck in eternal tech update purgatory like Summertime Saga.

If you aren't patient enough , there are plenty of other games to sink your time into , most of us can and have waited patiently for the devs to do their thing and add extra features to flesh out the overall experience of TNH and so far it has worked out great and the dev cycle for this game isn't even that long compared to the other shit shows on this site

I don't quite get what you mean here. What does art being the bottleneck have to do with the fact that adding these little things later down the line would very likely result in a massive resource draining timesink for the dev team?

I do also share the same concern ( I want to stress concern as in very mild concern) of feature creep while waiting for chapter 2. Hard not to when you are eagerly waiting on the new love interests and just want to romance them.

But you also have to keep in mind Chapter One was meant to feel like a full game if the unthinkable happens and development ends for one reason or another. I suppose you can think of it as Chapter one is the game and additional chapters are just episodes added on top of the full game, bringing more content to the already existing gameplay. And we have not yet gotten all the game systems included in the game yet.

The dev cycle isn't that long when did 0.7 come out?

it came out December 2024 and since then what has been archived. an option to make the girls look like crack whores.by July 2026 we will be past 1.1 and finally be able to pick which piece of cloth we can remove during sex

This post explains in details what changed in 0.8c and as Karmadive says, the game is being built in such a way that if the worst really does happen, Chapter 1 can be considered as a full game on its own. Plus there are systems that I would consider pretty crucial like group dates and group sex which aren't in the game yet so I'd personally prefer getting those done before moving on with the plot and adding more Love Interests.

Side note, the tattoos and body hair options were specifically funded by those who were willing to put money where their mouth is.

Yes , 0.7 and it's variations namely 0.7a and 0.7b came out during during December of last year and marked the end of the story events for chapter 1 which basically acts as an introduction of the core mechanics in the game

If we just take the story updates into consideration than the dev cycle might seem long especially for the people who just want the continuation of the story without the additional features but the devs have always been very transparent as to what they want to do before starting the next chapter of the game i.e polish all of the mechanics before proceeding on with the story

The update cycle of 0.8 has focused on that aspect very thoroughly and it's not as if it hasn't introduced significant changes , better idle animations for the live 2D models , more in game events for the girls , changes in music , revamping the sex mini game , a danger room that's lore accurate , more explorable environments , character specific sex poses and interactions with the highlights being Rogue's tit job and the reverse cowgirl for Laura

They even introduced sweat during sex lol , the point is that the dev team has not been sitting idly on their asses for this whole year

You can complain all you want , you can even dismiss all of what i have said but the dev team is still gonna build the game they wanna build , either you are in for the ride or you can leave , no one's forcing you to wait

Genuinely don't understand what the people that come here to complain are hoping to accomplish, do they want someone else to also be like "damn this game sucks. devs are doing nothing, they dont provide us with free goon material fast enough " or do they want the devs to be like "yeah my bad fam, here is all the content we are trying to make. normally it would take us a while to actually create it but only since YOU specifically asked i pulled it out of my ass in 2 seconds, enjoy king!"
