If we are talking about the very first version of her then yes, but that's like comparing Golden Age Superman & Batman to every iteration that came after, characters are never finalized right as they come out and it takes time before a version that remains constant sticks. Case in point, early versions of Batman had him using machine guns, something that everyone agrees no modern version of Batman would do.

Kitty debuted in 1980 but even in the 90's and late 80's just about every artist was drawing Kitty with straight hair and her jewish-ness was HEAVILY downplayed, she became a slim bubbly 80's girl fairly quickly and though the fashion sense has changed the rest hasn't; she had 80's hair for a while but that wasn't a jewfro. Some writers tried bringing back her being openly jewish but it's always been either a footnote or never stuck; many writers even forgot she was jewish and portrayed her as a New England WASP.
These days Kitty is as jewish as Magneto.
