Idk, man. I'd rather Null getting his ass on a silver platter served by Gordon Ramsey because he went way over his head than him jumping on the "I wanna protect people" rocket and blasting mfs. Anime did a lot of damage

A lot of people forget that the Phoenix Force is like the Enigma Force or the Shadow King, a metaphysical being that uses a host to manifest on the physical plane.

It just uses Jean as a vessel but has it's own will and while it's bound to a host can not access it's full power, which is why it conditions the host to be a better vessel. It also exists in multiple planes at once, even while bound to Jean it's still a psychic nexus and can bind to multiple hosts at once.

This version of Jean is still young and the amount of time Phoenix has had to shape her is small. It also didn't take Null as a serious threat since even if he shut off Jeans powers it wouldn't remove it. It was toying with him out of personal curiosity and a mix of vanity, if it had taken him as a serious threat and went all out from the start it would have won.
It was toying with Null out of boredom and let him win because it was far from being able to use Jean to her full potential and Nulls victory didn't matter to it, it just got mildly annoyed at the end but lost nothing regardless.

Yeah, if the Phoenix wanted to, it would have obliterated Null in an instant. The only reason it didn't is because Null is no threat to it, has no interest in becoming a threat to it and potentially also dicking it through its host and possible future host if Rachel joins the harem.

We meet in front of the mansion, then they don't seem do want to do anything. Again, this is based on my reading of the scenes, and that should be taken with industrial accident levels of salt. So yes, Hulk abilities seem possible, but he would need to try to manifest those powers individually in extreme life-or-death situations, which isn't a good idea.

Null's X-Gene isn't gonna randomly make him have gamma radiation.

Will he be exposed to gamma radiation separately? I have no idea. I'm not a writer.

If I was a writer I'd say no because I don't want Null to be like Ichigo where he has ALL of the powers.

Taskmaster by no means has the ability to copy powers. He copies combat techniques/styles with a suit that increases his durability so people like Spiderman and Luke Cage don't turn his bones to dust.

As shown with Juggernaut, Null cannot copy magic

at least in some runs of the comic.

Yeah the "problem" with Chapter 1 is that Null has no idea how powers work and only knows about things that make it on the news. Which I remind that both Hydra and SHEILD can manipulate the news.

I'll remind everyone that costumed vigilantes are a very recent thing and Null grew up during the debut of most of them with the Avengers and Fantastic Four entering the public view when he was in High School.

Prior to that supers were a thing but only locally and half of them didn't even think they were super.

There should always be a way for the player to use knowledge in place of strength and vice versa, otherwise it's a nonstop kobayashi maru.

Exactly. Null is now more aware of things. He has less knowledge than people who can pick up comic books but he's already learned the lessons that:

A. There are things stronger than him and his primary power only effects mutants.

B. He's stronger than normal humans.

C. His "copied" abilities have limitations.

He's not a heavy hitter like Colossus so he, and by extension you, have to be smart when coming up against foes.

I do want to reemphasize. Null does not have access to comic books telling him everyone's weakness. So just because you know Venom and Carnage are weak to high frequency sounds that doesn't mean Null will know without someone telling him or him noticing it himself.

However, he's learned his lesson with Juggy. Don't make assumptions.

This is actually false. The other two you mentioned yes. They are present in every universe at once. However the Phoenix is one of those universal constants. Meaning every universe has a Phoenix but it doesn't transcend the universes.

What I think may have you confused is that when Jean and the Phoenix are in perfect sync Jean's telepathy can breach the barrier to another universe. On a smaller scale Rachel's ability let her see her original timeline and she sadly found out that string theory exists.

We finished Chapter 1's finale a few updates ago. The next 2 major numeral updates (0.9 and 1.0) will be implementing systems and features we want in place before we move onto putting the story of Chapter 2.

No need to worry though. As previews have shown, we're already working on the art and writing for Chapter 2. So the wait in between 1.0 and 1.1 shouldn't take that long depending on how much of the art and writing gets done.

Funny thing is that Ichigo is some fucked up eugenics program of anime races, but his only power is the sword beam.

The Hulk is a mutate, not a mutant.
As I understand it, his transformation was the result of Bruce Banner trying to recreate the super soldier serum and an interaction with Gamma Radiation. If (big IF) Null is copying other mutant powers, then he could copy someone with the X-gene and super strength, but I would expect the Hulk to be off-limits.
Null's best chance for super strength would be Collossus, but so far he only seems to have copied female powers. Wolverine has some level of super strength, so it stands to reason that Laura (being either a clone or his daughter, take your pick) would seem to be his best bet, although with Wolverine/X-23 levels of strength he isn't going to be doing utterly ridiculous things, just very impressive.

Thanks for the clear up. I went to check and I did have the latest version. I just didn't realise Jean losing control was because of Pheonix. I thought it would have been more... red?
