Thats what i meant with the X-men we knew.
The current X-men are unrecognizable and proved fucking Bolivar Trask right, they are undistinguishable from the brotherhood.
I mostly read summaries and wikis, not actual comic books, but what I read about Beast was also... like opposite of Beast of the era I have known. From the enlightened guy that allowed people to arrest him and trusted the process to some psycho, crazy scientist. Like every scientist/inventor has to, no exception that I can think of, become villain in the end.

Quick question about android - the game crashes whenever I launch through Joiplay (instantly). This doesn't happen with other games. When I play via the android port I can't load older saves and have to start new every update. Is there anything I can do?

It took me hours to find a bug-

But apparently when trying to give Jean the mystery and wholesome romance novels, even after she's willing to accept them, they never get removed from inventory, and also never increase trust/love like I'd expect them too.

I don't know if the dev is lurking here like some do, but is this a known issue?

Also in a weird way, playing through the game, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite X-Men adaptations...that just happens to be a game with porn in it-

I'm curious, I'm wrapping up chapter 1 winter, and have spent a lot of time just building character relations and stats, how much of the game is there? And is 1.0 only going to be chapter 1 of the game? Curious how much content is in the game since most of the time, a 1.0 release would be equivalent to a fully completed game.

Devs do lurk here, Jean not accepting has been noted as a bug already and there's an 8b in beta just now that should fix it. Currently the game goes to summer, with a heck of a finale. 1.0 will be the completed chapter 1, with all of the systems in place so that chapter 2 should just be art / story starting in 1.1.

This is definitely the adaptation that made me wanna read the comics for real, instead of constructing my knowledge piece-by-piece.

The game currently runs up to the end of Null's first year at the Institute. That's chapter 1- there's gonna be 5-6 chapters, leading through the Onslaught Saga and then a final chapter for epilogue stuff and groundwork for potential sequels (fingers crossed). The rest of 0.8, 0.9 and 1.0 will be filling out ch 1 and the game's core systems as thoroughly as possible to deliver a "complete" experience and to future-proof the mechanics so that the rest of the game is just adding art and plot. Ch 2 starts with 1.1.

I will say, I'm curious, if "combat" of some sort has already been implemented, or WILL be implemented, as I've noticed there being "alerts" on the map that seems like it'd be for when the Null character becomes an official X-Men and starts doing missions, currently on Spring, so I don't know if it's going to be introduced during Summer or something-

But it'd definitely be interesting to see the skill tree and all get a bit more fleshed out, and get more options for leveling besides just the danger room and classes/studying.

I'm also curious though because it seems like at this rate, Null's power seems like it could snowball fairly quick into being borderline overpowered with how quickly his powers change and adapt.

But yeah, loving it so far, just curious what the schedule is gonna be like for example for updates, and how much the game is gonna change from 0.8 to 1.0. Especially if combat or missions get involved.

There was that whole thing with Scott abandoning his wife and unborn child during the Claremont era. Still, nothing that happened back then can match the cringe of unironically trying to portray Scott as having committed genocide.

It'd more accurately be 0.1.0 when we're putting into the context of 1.0 = full release.

Or you could argue that it is 1.0 because that that point all the game systems we have discussed internally will be in and everything afterward will be story content. Similar to how the first episode of The Walking Dead by Tell Tale was a "1.0".

Either way we hope you enjoy what we have cooking up.

Combat has been discussed. We currently have a million ideas and don't want to give possible ideas until we can narrow them down.

Slight misconception.

She gave him an ultimatum. Stop Super Heroing or she's leaving. His friends were in danger and he chose to save lives... and she left.

It's still not great but a lot of people have misremembered it as him abandoning a wife and child to date Jean again. Which has never been the case.

He and Emma broke up before Jean came back the second time and Emma mind tricking Scott into nearly sleeping with her was Emma being a betty bitch to Jean over bitterness stemming from the Dark Phoenix Saga.

In Psylocke's Case, Jean died AGAIN and Psylocke's boyfriend died too so it was mutual comfort.

Scott NEEDs someone to go to and comfort him once he's "off the clock". He has the intelligence to be a leader but he has underlying anxiety that builds up if there isn't a big tittied telepath at home to give him a hug and tell him everything is going to be alright.

Again I have the stance I do because Scott actually hasn't cheated on anyone. Havok has. If the misinformation around Scott didn't exist, my hate for Alex/Havok would be substantially lowered.

I mean even past Scott and Jean "broke up" before Scott and Kamala became the most adorable "couple" in Marvel comics for a hot minute.

I think we could all benefit from a big tittied telepath, tbh.

Havok being the way he is made me so glad that they finally decided to drop the Bobby, Polaris and Havok Triangle and just make Bobby gay. Dude was unnecessarily an ass to Bobby too often.

I'm probably just going to stick to the Chris Claremont era. It gets so dumb from there on after, and the latest comics are just outright offensive.
Forgot to mention the arc I mentioned is written by Claremont, it's just a particularly messed up event for Scott.

That's a very generous interpretation of events. Let me start this by saying, with the benefit of hindsight, knowing everything that would happen, Madelyne and Scott never should have been together. Scott was convinced she was the reincarnation of Jean, and he wanted her to be someone she wasn't; she wanted him to stop being a hero and love her for who she was. The fact of the matter, though, is that Scott did agree to retire, and he made a commitment. It doesn't matter than Madelyne was pressuring him; it doesn't matter that Storm beat him down and coerced him. He still made that choice. As Claremont stated in an interview, the original intention was for Madelyne just to be someone who looked like Jean and that Scott would retire with her and have a family. It was supposed to be about Scott growing up and moving on.
It's still not great but a lot of people have misremembered it as him abandoning a wife and child to date Jean again. Which has never been the case.
The writers decided they wanted the band back together. Many characters made many stupid decisions because the writers wanted their soap opera and for everyone to end up where they started. They decided to resurrect Jean and make Madelyne a clone. Scott may not have let to "get back with Jean," but the writers certainly had him leave to get them back together. Scott deciding to return to heroing despite the promises and commitments he had made was his abandoning her. Claremont even said the reason they turned Madelyne into the Goblin Queen was to improve the optics of Scott "abandoning" her.
Again I have the stance I do because Scott actually hasn't cheated on anyone. Havok has. If the misinformation around Scott didn't exist, my hate for Alex/Havok would be substantially lowered.
And that's why I despise what the writers did to Havok. He was a character with two decades of history. They were a couple with a 20-year relationship. Havok was devastated by what happened to Polaris. He was tormented by the fact that he could not save his wife from Malice. The writers had to make the character jump through hoops just to justify to themselves having him cheat the first time. Then, instead of having him regret it or trying to redeem himself or even justify it, they doubled and tripled down on it. He went from someone who couldn't stand seeing his wife hurt to someone who had no problem casually hurting his wife. It became his defining character trait. His character did a complete 180, and that's why I consider that to be character assassination and bad writing.

Truth be told, if I read the X-Men for the first time today, I would probably hate it. It relies on too many tropes I've come to despise over the years. How many times have characters been resurrected? I love the X-Men, but I acknowledge much of that is nostalgia and willfully ignoring some elements I find problematic. One of the things I hope for from TNH is connecting stories I love in a more satisfying manner, without having to break characters to make the plot happen. That's one advantage to knowing what is going to happen ahead of time and having a solid outline as opposed to making things up as you go along. Maybe my expectations are too high, and it is certainly unrealistic for me to expect others to consider the same moments problematic as I do. Anyway, see you around version 1.1. I'll stress test chapter 1 and give my feedback then.

I just finished the game (so far) and I have to say this is an awesome game. I just had a problem with some Jean optional quests, but I think I didnt miss anything important. I like the idea that girls are not totally sluts and have some decency.

I hope in the future we can see another girls like Ororo, Jubilee, etc. Also it will be good to exploit the mutant powers to another level like: mind control, see through, etc...

doesn't work animations on laura and Jean
You mean THEIR OWN animations, or the MCs bodyparts randomly disappearing while still acting on them according to sexing text and numbers going up?
Because I never saw problems with their drawings moving, but tongues and hands molesting them going away is pretty common for me.
My guess would be that it is somehow related to their special poses.

MC body parts yeah - disappearing and doesn't work with female parts of body - choose pose but animations - like blowjob - licking and etc doesn't work

Might be an intended behavior in some cases where you can't reach the place, or just something that is of yet missing the "positioning data" for the limb on some pose changes.
We gotta deal with it, especially in any early versions (this one wasn't even planned as a release if I read the threads scuttlebutt right)
