I don't believe this for a second. The writers have proven they have the skill to do EXACTLY that without feeling cheap. They can definitely maintain depth of characterization and romance across both poly and mono routes, without making it feel like mono players have an anemic experience during the bulk of the game. If they choose not to, it'll be just that- a choice. A choice entirely up to them, made for what I'm sure are perfectly valid reasons, but one I also hope they play out in a way that I still personally find satisfying. There's absolutely a balance to be found, and without knowing what they have in store, I can't know what that balance might be or if they care to strike it. Therein lies my worry and my need to voice it, whether it helps my case or not, whether players or devs agree or not.
I think you miss my point slightly, because the balance in both routes is having the slightly branching routes depending on the relationships, a story without consequence for your actions whether they be good or bad is bad writing and that's an objective fact. I'm not saying it has be TT TWD, but having variations in routes only enriches gameplay and narrative, let's say you're mono Rogue I don't believe it's unfair to the poly route to have an exclusive date setting, likewise if you're on the poly route I don't believe it would be unfair to have an exclusive group outing and the like. Playing games like this will always draw some kind of divide amongst it's players and you can't make everyone happy, so the simple solution is to craft multiple stories that can apply to various player choices.

Folks ya'll need to chill down , here look at this and just simmer down with the pointless back and forth

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

The dev teams knows what they are doing and so far they haven't let the fans down and replayability should be looked at as a good thing and although i understand the pov of players who want all of the content in a single playthrough but i can never see that happening in a game of this size and scope

I'm happy you're happy.
You should know by now that i am very happy with the current state of the game and the direction you guys are taking it in and despite what some people feel to be a long dev cycle for each update it honestly doesn't feel like it , 2 - 3 months gap between each update and sometimes even less is more than enough in my eyes since it brings in more quality and polish

I just hope once chapter 1 is done we can go back to the story at full force once more

No, youre just selfish.
Im all in for people getting their polycule hijinks because to each their own, youre here arguing that people shouldnt get anything for not going along with that, so no, fuck off, like it was said before, you cant have your cake and eat it too.
That's genuinely disappointing; disagreement aside, you generally seem like a cool dude. I'd prefer this doesn't become a sticking point going forward, so for what little it's worth, I apologize if I came across as a dickhead.

All of this is true. Chill your tits.

This. Stuff like friendzoned Jean ain't majority content.
Thank you, this puts most of my concerns to rest, and I'll drop the matter.

Just because we disagree in something doesnt mean we are on bad terms or anyting dude, chill, im just saying youre acting like this.

What you said its as unreasonable as if i started arguing that monogamous routes should have access to threesome scenes or else ill get pissed because im missing on content, when that is precisely the point, there should be advantages to playing different ways.

Maybe it's too much, but do you think we'll have a period where we meet Alpha Flight? Probably not, cause that's a bit of artwork for just a single event, but it would be neat. Maybe we'd get the opportunity to fight Wendigo alongside Wolverine.

Well now that I've fixed my fuck up and did some actual research here is my second attempt at guessing the following chapter girls because it is better than this argument:

Chapter 3 girls:
Mirage, Magik, and Wolfsbane

Chapter 4 girls:
Jubilee, Rachel Summers, and Magma

Chapter 5 girls:
Emma, Boom-Boom, Polaris

Why Emma and Polaris in chapter 5? Well, Polaris was under mind control for the entire Mr. Sinister arc, which will likely be chapter 4, and barely had a role previously, so having her join at the end of the chapter 4 arc when she is freed makes the most sense. Emma becomes more and more affiliated with the X-Men during the years chapter 5 will cover as well. Polaris isn't included because I am not sure anyone wants to deal with the Kwannon mess, and other girls introduced during this time are not included because I haven't read anything with them yet.

Again, this in no way matches what the devs have planned and is only based on Uncanny X-Men up to 240 and a wiki dive.

While your reasoning seems sound (I can't say for sure; I still haven't sat down to read the comics properly), I think announcing Emma so early on only to sideline her full romance for three whole chapters would have a fair number of people eyeing their torches and pitchforks.

She will likely be a end of Chapter or part 3/chapter 2 romance join. Otherwise it would be pointless to have her simply be a villain and to wait 3 chapters for her then join as you say.

I will point out that one of the devs has stated recently that if there had not already been art and writing for Laura and Rogue, that Polaris would've been one of the chapter 1 LI's.

Taking that into account, Polaris could show up earlier than ch 5, potentially.

Eh. Gooners. Having them edge for a couple of years might do 'em some good - help 'em build character and learn some restraint.

She remains an antagonist for nearly a decade before mellowing out in the 90s.

Several events are directly caused by her being an antagonist, so her joining outright before she mellows out is unlikely.

Note, there is nothing stopping Null from seducing her to spy on the Hellfire club, as he is the only one immune to her powers outright, or Emma tries to seduce him to do the same to the X-Men. It would work out even with no romance, as you can do back-and-forths while eating fancy dinners or meeting in social encounters.

It would be a vastly different romance and character interaction compared to every other character, but it would be something fitting to the character, in my opinion. It's also not without precedent in the comic, considering the number of times the X-Men just walked up to the Hellfire club. Heck, Magneto even joins the Hellfire club when he was still the leader of the New Mutants.

Potentially, but in the arcs the game will be covering, she is outright retired and doesn't rejoin the plot in any significant capacity till Mr. Sinister has Malice possess her and then she joins X-factor when she is freed.

If it's going to be comic-accurate, then Null won't even interact with her that much beyond the times she is briefly mind-controlled and when she shows up for Scott's wedding. Now, the devs who put far more thought into this than I did might know a better time she can join, but the best time I can think of is chapter 5 where she joins the X-Men instead of X-factor. Heck she might not even be joining considering the sheer number of other potential girls joining in the same time frame.
