No, sounds like you're doing everything right. It should trigger and take you to the boy's hallway and then she show's up. I just tried real fast and it worked just fine for me. What version are you playing on?

There where a lot of changes with 0.8b to improve performance and maybe the cheat mod is interfereing with that somehow? Can you try without the cheat mod?
