Never really heard any East Coast accents IRL myself, but I think my high watermark for 'hot' in that particular geographical range would have to be Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny.

Unfortunately, I can't think of any X-Girls who canonically speak like that (unless I'm forgetting somebody), so no chance we'll see this in TNH.
Isnt the X-Men academy for gifted youth supposed to be in upstate new york???

Youd think that at least SOME of the mutants are from the area...

RonChon:0.8c.beta2 going up!
I also have another announcement that I'm pretty excited about

at this point, multiple people have reached out to request commissioning a character from our artists. I've actually ended up taking up a few of the requests because I thought they were interesting and the offers were good enough - see attached, which I have permission to share. however, the whole thing prompted me to wonder if this might be a good opportunity for us to tackle multiple developer and community goals at once

for one, I've been working with my character artist for a little while to find a secondary artist that can help with some of the more time-consuming rendering steps - we've identified a good candidate and will be moving forward with incorporating them into the team, but of course this is adding significantly to our art budget!

so my proposal for increasing our art budget is this: I am setting up a special tier on Patreon for non-Marvel character commissions. 1) the commission offer has to be explicitly accepted by me beforehand, so that I can apply a judicious filter. 2) the donation has to once again cover the full cost of the character plus some. and 3) the commissioner has to agree to the character's Live2D game-ready model being made accessible as a TNH modding resource

the reason for 3 is that we intend to use this as an opportunity to encourage our modding community by addressing the most significant hurdle to adding new characters - the art. we will provide the modding community with TNH-ready assets, such that the only modding requirement is the writing of interactions with the characters themselves
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
to summarize: we are announcing a new Patreon tier for non-Marvel character commissions. these commissions will serve the dual purpose of 1) funding the expansion of our TNH art team and 2) expanding the resources available to our modding community. by enabling the expansion of our art team, we intend for this to be an overall accelerant to TNH art production. we will not under any circumstances allow this to slow down TNH development - I am in no rush to rapidly accept commissions and will close the tier at the slightest hint of a problem

we are under absolutely no obligation to accept commissions and will turn down requests at our discretion. do not get mad at me if you do not read my message or the tier description beforehand. a starting range for commissioning a single pose animated in Live2D with two outfits is $750 - 1000 based on complexity and can quickly escalate based on what is desired

a final point: our wonderful writer Buttholder will be additionally offering his writing services for anyone who wishes to commission writing for a character. please reach out to him directly if you are interested

I'm happy to discuss the logistics of commissioning a character with anyone who is interested. again, please understand that I intend to be very strict about the commissions that are accepted.

Buttholder:So, as Ron said above, I'm now available for commission to create scenes for the game. All the details are on my Ko-Fi, but the important thing to note is that these are NOT for official inclusion in the game. This is just a fun thing for you to get your hands on that one interaction you've always wanted, or to have characters Do The Thing and reference one of the in-jokes or memes that have sprung up since the game's release.
We're also expecting mod creation to increase now that we've (hopefully) nailed down the final bits of the engine, so I'm also going to be available to write for those on a case-by-case basis. Obviously, this game comes first, but if you've got the ideas and the art, I'm happy to work on what you need. And if you decide to take us up on the above option of your own character, I'm available to write dialogue to help integrate them and make them feel more like a part of the game!

Go to for all the information, and if you need to discuss anything, let me know!

Posting here because I'm not in the Discord, but I tested out some console commands in the first beta release to stress-test the system. I discovered Jean and Laura now require their full names, but when I input the command, their in-game stats didn't update.

Don't know if this is a sign of a wider issue or not, or if this is present in the second beta release.

How do you stress-test the system with console commands?
In other words, you wanted to cheat but the variable names changed?

This should be the final time this needs to be done, at least for the foreseeable future, barring any massive under-the-hood changes, which you can never really rule out, sadly. But, as always, if that needs to happen, we'll let you know well in advance, and the achievements file for the store should always carry over, so you're never really starting from absolute zero again.
Sorry in advance if this has been brought up before and I'm dementiaing over it, but is there a chance you could include a "select chapter" option from the main menu for those who'd rather skip over certain things and provide a basic blanket character history as filler for what's not done in previous chapters? Like what Mity has going on in 4ET. This way it won't be that hard to swallow if you fellas have to do another back room adjustment that makes saves incompatible.

No, it means I put in various values and saw what happened with the characters and if I got any errors as a result of those inputs. While errors are more likely with console commands, that is still good information for the devs to have in case it reveals an error, such as reaching a specific level under xyz circumstances causes a crash, that they need to look at before it becomes an issue.

Please don't accuse me of complaining that I can't cheat when I'm actually trying to help the devs in what limited ways I can in the public beta.

Played a bunch of the first version of the beta last night. Everything seems to be running fine for me, but it sounds like there were some bad bugs others ran into and we now have a v3 of the beta. Only thing that seemed off to me is that I don't recall it ever taking so long to build trust. Even with the achievement perk that boosts it and the class attendance buff. Was it always this slow?

Joking aside, if they do this shit, I see this games will go down the drain.
How? They specifically said its "NOT for official inclusion in the game" so I don't see what the issue is. The art budget seems to be one of the biggest hold ups for getting new content and sounds like this would really help shore up some more funding. That and it might bring more people around to make mods for the game.

No. I'm pretty sure they nerfed the point gain for love/trust. I just made a file on the older build skipping threw and picking all of the same choices until the end of day 5 and it was almost double the points on the same day on a current build save.

Thanks, I was tempted to do that as well to check. I could have sworn I had a play through in the previous version were I was able to speed through Fall and start Winter before the MC even showed up on the leader boards. Oh well, I'm sure all this stuff is still in flux and there will be a balancing update once they've worked through most of the bugs.
