I was wondering what happens if you do this, do those "wenches" just sit around waiting for Null or something? or do they make canon choices, for instance does Kitty start dating Piotr if you ignore her?

Yes, I can confirm that, at least on my old laptop that I use for testing. I don't have complete shutdowns, but I do get notifications that the (Ren'Py) app is not responding and lags lasting from 5 to 30 seconds or more after every activity, whether it's going to bed (alone) or participating in class with 2 girls, etc.
A lot of messages are written in the console. I suspect it's tracking sandbox actions, but I can't understand why this would cripple the entire game.

Playing the beta?
I mean, I didn't even try to play the sex mini game in the current beta version. I'm talking about normal sandbox gameplay. Even the dialogue is lagging from time to time which is unbearable to play or test, imho
Yes in the beta. Regular game play and transitions are definitely slower than normal as well but it really hits during the sex scenes
I haven't even added any mods, I was worried it would make the lag worse. The cheat engine doesn't seem to work at all with the beta anyway, haven't tried summoner

I'm sorry to hear this! This is compared to 0.8b1? For 0.8c, I've implemented a more Ren'Py friendly method for polling the Live2Ds for updates, but I would expect it to help with performance since it's not dependent on multithreading.
What devices are y'all playing on? Can you go into the graphics menu and try selecting options like "Low Res Mode" and "Live2D Lite" and see if it helps? There are also options at the bottom for changing how image prediction and preloading works that might be worth trying to tweak.
I did catch a bug in my Live2D setup that was causing some minor frame dips - this will be fixed in beta14.

Compared to 8b1?
No. 8b1 was faster on my mashine, lags yes but smoother gameplay.
0.8c:
It's very slow and laggy after ending the day or activities like posted before, and I don't think it's due to Live2D, because I also got a message from Ren'Py saying "Possible infinite loop." Unfortunately, I don't have the traceback log anymore. As far as I remember it was something with time.rpy mentioned.
Playing on win10, i5 laptop with 8 GB ram and hd4k intel chipset +nvidia 710m gpu. (yeah its old, I know)

I suggested this and got shut down.
I think at most some girls will go on dates with nameless, faceless dudes just as flavor texts to show that they have lives outside of Null but nothing that'd attract an NTR War.
hmm, not sure, haven't had any other reports of infinite looping so can't track it down without a traceback. let me know if it happens again!
