That's the thing: By "fixing" something that wasn't broken, the overall social simulation aspect of the game becomes weaker, which seems very counter intuitive to "attempting to achieve more natural and diverse reactions through natural combinations of generic and specific dialogue".
Big Sis Jean has become an icon over the past year. To my understanding of the situation thus far, Ron is gatekeeping that and the other girl's quirks behind romantic and sexual pursuits. And I get it: "it's a porn game" - I've seen that surface-level rationale several times over from people who don't show up very often - and I'm fully aware that the 'big sis lil bro' thing is meant to be sexual. But not not everyone wants all three, or all six when chapter 2 releases, and I really don't understand why 'big sis lil bro' now has to be exclusively sexual when it was enjoyable under platonic pretenses.
That said, seeing as how you're not a big fan of the current lineup and a playing the game more for sex simulation as opposed to Marvel visual novel and social simulation, this is less of a rant towards you specifically and more of an open letter to Ron, so we'll see if my disappointment along with others' will help Ron see the misstep.

So he did say they'll add non-relationship quirk events for platonic playthroughs but I'm thinking why separate already existing content that previously worked perfectly fine in platonic playthroughs. To be honest, I think it'll work better if you pop into the Discord and say this to Ron himself. I would chime in but salscou basically had already said whatever I had to say and you just showed you can articulate our shared sentiments better than I can.

Am I tweakin or is the new update just bugged or somet? I can't progress Laura's friendship quest since shes never in class. Even when i bring her there myself to try do it nothing happens and no more events are popping up. Is my game cooked

I played through the girl's relationship paths again the other day.
This is how every one of the kisses play out during the quest scenes:
Rogue "she leans into you during the kiss"
Laura "she kisses you with energy"
Jean "she gropes your ass while kissing you"

I'll admit that it's easier for me to vent than it is to take it all the way to Discord, especially if it'll turn into a time consuming back and forth where I'm unsure about the odds of quirks going back to how it was: based on my guess that Boots voted against the change but was overruled, and me not being 100% confident that a collective community effort could sway Ron's and the writer's opinions, even if everyone who dislikes the change can (somehow) be diplomatic without being hostile.
So, if Boots or whoever wants to forward what I said to Discord, be my guest. But, I do have to also say for the sake of trying to see where Ron and those in favor of the change are coming from: If our efforts don't work, then I hope that what the team has in mind for the future is compelling enough to keep platonic interactions as intriguing and dynamic as they were before.

so after a restart, game is working fine, no freezes or ctd but i get a few bugs...
no way to get laura to date. i'm in winter - she has about 500 love and trust, i ask her for a date and she says - see me in the evening - null says -where- and i get a - she did not reply -

I think she's supposed to find you. Leave your day open in that timeframe and wander around. I think she gets you if you walk in the hallway outside of your room. Don't remember if you have to walk out of your room into the hall or not. Sleeping in your own bed might also help

Understandable. I suppose I'll be doing a no main girls, only side girls playthrough as my main line then, and probably a save for fucking around, literally.
Then again who knows what mods will bring in the future, too early to tell.

Not sure what's going on
I pulled up a save from Fall right after the first Laura date, and I didn't even have 400 love. I had 359 love and 700 trust, since polyamory requires 600 trust.
If you are dating more than 1 maybe trust is the issue.
I'll skip through things in a save from before the Laura date until I can reach that point to check on the trigger.

I triggered it just now. All I did was ask Laura on a date by text and then go to class in the morning and afternoon and Null automatically went to the hallway for the evening time slot.

Also for me, I don't remember, do you not get the option to call "X-23" "Laura" until after Fall? If you can call her Laura before in Fall by just being a friend, it's a bug I have not being able to from using a save from the beta.
Guess I'll just complete Fall again and find out. Nothing a little URM magic won't fix in the worst case.
