Jep, especially in my opinion that BF is kind of a millstone around the neck and does not seem to be really interested in her. Graduation is such an important event and even if you had not heard from your friend for years you can ask to call later that day because you are at the important graduation of your GF where she is the valedictorian and it's kind of rude to use your phone in that moment.
The dev already mentioned this was just a side story with no connection with the main game.
Yeah if you start a game with a husband/boyfriend, you have not to make him too unlikeable (otherwise it's just an annoyance and wonder why she stays with him) but also not too much likeable (otherwise cheating doesn't make sense, unless there is good blackmail)

I don't recall there being any actual rape, which would involve penetration without consent if I remember correctly. At the most, it may be sexual assault. It does have the Sexual Harassment tag. Either way, best to just move on from this one and find a different game.
Sexual Harassment is mostly verbal or grabing someones ass or leg once you put your hands on the genitals grab somebody by the troth pushing them against the wall and forcing them to preform a sex act its clearly RAPE
