I hope everyone had a great weekend! I am hard at work putting the final touches on V.0.92 of The Office Wife. It's been a long time coming! I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about the contents as you'll get that in the release notes, but I will say that this release focuses on wrapping up the Donnie storlyine setting things up to move into the final phase of the game. This isn't to say the game is going to necessarily end imminently...there is still a lot more to go, but the remainder is going to be focused on resolving the central conflicts with the necklace and Innana.
Anyway, in this release there are new scenes with Donnie, Marcus, David, Jim and Polly, Jessie, Zack, Kabir, and more. There is approximately 350 new renders and 42 new animations. The one thing I want to ask is that you don't equate time with size of release. I'd say this release is about average in size compared to previous releases. The main cause of the delay has to do with me moving out of state over the summer and it taking a while for me to get settled in to really wrap this up. I also had to spend time on updating renders with Stacy's new skirt and going through and fixing some old bugs.
Release Date:
I'm going to give myself an extra day just to make sure I have time to work out as many bugs as possible. That means I plan to do a Pre-PreRelease on Thursday, January 16, 2025 for all Pimps ($12) and higher, with the Civic Leaders ($5) release the following day, Friday, January 17, 2025. The Public Release will then be the following Friday, January 24, 2025.
Going Forward:
Going forward, my goal is to never take this long between releases again. I know it's not fun for you all and I don't like doing it either because it actually makes it harder from a development perspective to have these long gaps in time. Before even starting the next release, my goal is to make sure I have a detailed development plan through the end of the game. Right now I have the broad strokes and I've been putting things into detail release by release, but with the state of the game now, that method is becoming increasingly inefficient. I want to have a solid plan going forward. That doesn't mean I won't throw in a few funky ideas I might have along the way, but I do want a clear path ahead so that I can plan my time and effort accordingly.
That was a lot of text so thank you for reading! I look forward to hearing from you all so don't hesitate to reach out!
