While I appreciate the work the dev is putting into this game, I hope they focus on a story after this next update. I don't want this to turn into many of the 3d games on this site where we only look forward to see the new animations added, as many are more tech demos than games.
a good story can help elevate the ntr
While I definitely agree that it can help elevate the NTR, a good story can only take you so far, and most NTR plots are fairly nonsensical or shallow by necessity. As it turns out, writing a good story where the lancer is a complete bastard, the love interest is a cheating whore, and the protagonist is blind and naive as a newborn half-deaf bat is fucking hard. And while it definitely heightens the experience, most people just don't care all that much about story in these types of games.

Either way, generally speaking unless your game is highly story-driven, it's not that great of an idea to start really going in on the story when you're still in the beta stages for the actual gameplay mechanics, which this game definitely is. As I understand it, when it comes to game design you don't really want to start implementing the story until you have the basic foundation to put it into, that being the gameplay mechanics. Until those are at least mostly in place, the story usually remains primarily on-paper.

Basically, I would keep your expectations low. This is (as far as I'm aware) being made by a single person, and it's still an extremely early prototype of the eventual final product. From what I've seen the story doesn't appear to be a priority at the moment, and probably shouldn't be until the basic mechanics are fairly well hammered out. I'd imagine the most we're likely to get for a while is maybe an intro sequence or some such.

Honestly? I think leaving it vague is better, that way the person playing can put their own 'story' in its place. You really don't need one anyway past what we got, two adventurer's and their mentor are just doing adventurer stuff, no grand quest or world saving needed. His girl is just easy and the mentor is just a bad person.

I would agree in theory, but I don't think this is a case where one should expect a soul-rendingly beautiful NTR story. Such things are few and far between, and as has been said there's been a focus on H-content and gameplay since the beginning, with narrative as a mostly-unmentioned backseat. 'Don't expect what's not advertised', and all that.

IMO I'd rather have a game with a focus on mechanics over plot. It's a NTR game, the plot is kind of self explanatory and just about every scenario that can lead up to NTR has been done to death in every other NTR game. It's such a niché product that in terms of plot beat once you've played a few netorare games you've seen them all and the only thing that really makes one stand out over the other is the games mechanics.
Most NTR games are RPG-maker or VN's, the fact this one isn't either but rather focuses (at least for now) exclusively on the H-content is what caught my interest.
I'm not throwing salt at RPG maker games though, they're perfectly fine and get the job done, i'm just saying that this game skipping all of that and going straight into the action is what made it stand out for me.
Sometimes i don't want to grind 5+ hours to get to the point of a game and i'd like to see more NTR game's be willing to dive straight into the NTR content without muddling.

I mean it's a GAME. a game should have gameplay and good story is a bonus. A good story won't save a game if the game play sucks. But a fun game can easily carry a bad story.
I mean games like the original Super Mario is still played today and the only story was / is "go to the right, save the Princess."

A lot of people love reading books, right? You don't see a single image in most books. So, books are just walls of text where everything that happens is left to your imagination, so why can't it work both ways? Everything the characters think and feel will remain in your imagination while you watch the action. How about having the actions build the plot?

Also, no matter what story you write, people will always have their own expectations, and many will be dissatisfied. Simply because everyone wants to see their preferences reflected.

Maybe just let the girl smile and tease player around?
