if you want players to get invested in the LI of this game, you need to distance yourself from the previous one because:

1- LI can easily make or break the game, and having the same LI (model) from the first game is a bold choice
2- The majority of harem/romance players will hate the fact that their favorite LI has their future self involved in mmf, group sex, or with another character of the first game.
3- Players will be skeptical after they try the first game and find it focused on NTR/blackmail.

Dev should've either started with fresh characters or atleast could've added avoidable ntr like the original game.
Now he's going to lose patreons/players from both the sides.
