This is a genuinely good game. visual novel style. it's not really wanking material that im looking for on these sites but it captured me enough to play to the end of content.

The queen's a complete bitch to the mc so it's surprising that anyone thinks the mc should be loyal to her. No wonder her daughter runs off.

Just try it and see how it turns out. This game has a few Bad Ends, but this isn't one of them.
She's actually quite pleasant if you aren't a little bitch to her. Will even give you a handjob when you're struggling.
(if anyone is an actual bitch here, it's her mentioned daughter. Between framing the MC she's just encountered simply because it suits her, turning Colette into a basket case just for fun, and now apparently establishing herself as a crime boss instead of doing her fucking job that even a guy could perform without any real difficulty... yeah, no.)

If you choose to dance in the Bastille ballroom as your activity for the day, and then pick Marthe as one of your partners, you can eventually question her why she chose such risky target as the Bastille, and she tells you this:

The grey eyes are pretty clear indicator who that "cocky bitch" is, even without the bits about her attitude. Mind you, it can be a little less clear if you've picked hair color other than default black for the Princess. As in that case the game will mention her hair color instead. Although it also makes it far more obvious on game script level.

Oh wow, didn't know about that. Seems like a really big thing to casually drop in a missable scene.
The Queen's not the nicest person by any means, but she at least doesn't threaten to torture/murder you in overly elaborate ways in like every conversation unlike Merat. Especially considering his 'plan' apparently amounts to "get you to do all of the work and also take all of the risk for what is merely an implied chance that he won't then immediately enact one of his overly elaborate murder-torture plans on you."
I imagine this is just a bit of optional foreshadowing for something that will happen soon(tm) anyway, with conclusion of the current chapter behind the corner. Perhaps the Princess and the folks she's rounded up will make appearance and play some role in those events. Maybe to spoil whatever plans the local Duke has cooked, to show that "See, she isn't all just insufferable little bitch". Or something.
